NIT Patna: Admission, Cutoffs 2026, Fees, Courses and Ranking

National Institute of Technology Patna is the 18th NIT created by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. BTech is the flagship programme offered at this institute, which has been ranked 53 under the 'Engineering' category in the NIRF Ranking 2025. The overall the highest package recorded during NIT Patna placements 2025 was INR 41.37 LPA. 

IIITM Gwalior: The institute was ranked 88th in the best Engineering Colleges in India category by NIRF 2023. The institute has been designated a National Institute of Importance. The IIITM Gwalior is a self-governing institute established under the Societies Registration Act. Atal Bihari Vajpayee IIITM Gwalior provides Doctoral, Integrated Post Graduate (IPG), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and BTech (Computer Science & Engineering) programmes. According to the most recent placement statistics, the highest and average package offered during IIITM Gwalior placements 2023 stood at INR 65 LPA and INR 24.31 LPA, respectively. The top recruiters of IIITM Gwalior in 2023 included Google, Microsoft, Meta, Adobe, Amazon, Samsung, Deloitte, Atlassian, IBM, HCL, TCS, Dell, etc.

NIT Patna: The institute has been ranked 56th among the top Engineering colleges in India by NIRF 2023. NIT Patna offers Undergraduate (BTech, BArch), Postgraduate (MTech, MSc), and PhD programmes through its experienced faculty well versed in their respective fields of engineering and technology with well-equipped laboratories. As per the latest placement news, a total of 639 offers have been made during placements 2023 so far. The highest package and average package offered during NIT Patna placements 2023 stood at INR 52 LPA and INR 13.30 LPA, respectively.

The cut off ranks have changed from 22266 to 21654 for OBC, 79063 to 56352 for SC, 1884 to 70929 for ST, 18577 to 18303 for EWS, 415 to 292 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

The NIT Patna cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for different All India quota categories. The cutoff was published in the form of opening and closing ranks based on the students' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam. 

As per the table above, admission in the first round to the BTech CSE branch was the most competitive for the PWD AI category. This is because the PWD AI category had the lowest round 1 rank among all.

NIT Patna NIMCET cutoff 2025 was released for admission to the MCA course and its various specialisations in the form of ranks.

The time period required to complete the JEE Main preparation depends mainly on the students. Every student has their own pace of study. Ideally, 6-month time is good enough to complete the JEE Main preparation. Students who have started preparing from class 11 or 12 can easily prepare for JEE Main in 6 months considering the topics of JEE syllabus have already been studied in classes 11 and 12.

JEE Main preparation is most effective with classes 11 and 12 as almost 90-95 percent of topics are similar in both exams. This way students can easily complete the entire JEE Main syllabus as well as the syllabus of classes 11 and 12. After the board exams, students get 1-2 months' time where they can focus entirely on JEE Main. Students who have started late for the JEE Main exam can make a 6-month plan where in the first three months they have to focus on revising the syllabus studied in classes 11 and 12. In the next two months focus on solving questions of JEE Main and analyzing the mistakes being made, if any. The last month should be focused on solving mock tests and JEE Main previous year question papers.
