The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) declared the results of the NIFT 2023 written exams on March 10, 2023. The results have been declared for all candidates who appeared in the NIFT 2023 written exam, which was conducted on February 5, 2023. Candidates can check the NIFT 2023 results online at niftadmissions.in, by entering their email id and password.

Q:   When will the National Institute of Fashion Technology conduct the NIFT 2024 exam?
A: 

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducted the NIFT 2024 exam in two phases. The 1st phase included the written exams GAT and CAT.

The written exams was held on February 5, 2024. The scores of the written exam was used to shortlist c candidates for the 2nd phase, which will include a Situation Test (B. Des programme) or Personal Interview (PG courses).

The Situation Test was held on April 13, 2024, while the Personal Interview was conducted from April 1-6, 2024.

Q:   When was the NIFT 2026 exam conducted?
A: 

NIFTEE 2026 is to be conducted on February 08, 2026. Written tests comprised a General Ability Test (GAT) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT). GAT is mandatory for all candidates, but CAT is only required for B. Des and M. Des candidates. 

GAT test will be considered in a computer-based mode, whereas the CAT will be offline based. Note that scores of the written exams will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

Q:   What is the candidate asked to perform during the NIFT situation test?
A: 

During the Situation Test, the candidate will be provided with a set of materials. Using these materials, the candidate will be required to make specific models. In this test, candidates are required to create a 3D model based on the question asked for, which they are given 2 hours, within which they need to conceptualize and complete the model.

After completing the mode, the candidate will also have to draft a write-up, which is evaluated by the jury later. Note that besides material exploration & management skills, NIFT also lays great emphasis on time management skills and students are closely monitored on the fact that whether they have managed to complete the task at hand in two hours or not.

What after NIFT 2023 results for written exams

Candidates who have qualified in the written exams will next have to appear in a Situation Test/ Personal Interview. The status, qualified or not, will be mentioned in NIFT 2023 results.

The number of candidates that will be shortlisted for the NIFT 2023 situation test/ interview will be around three times the number of seats available. 

B.Des candidates need to appear in the Situation Test, whereas MDes, MFM, and MFTech applicants need to take a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

The Situation Test /GDPI will be conducted in April 2023. The GD will be of 15 to 20 minutes and include a discussion on an assigned case study. A panel of experts will assess the candidates on various parameters, including conceptual clarity, knowledge of the topic assigned, the contribution made to the topic, interpersonal skills ability to generate new ideas, problem-solving approach, leadership qualities, and effective communication.

Q:   When will slot booking open for the situation test at NIFT 2026?

Slot booking process for the NIFT Situation Test 2026 will be held a few weeks before the Situation Test. Slot booking process will be held online and will be open for candidates who have qualified in NIFT written exams. As part of the slot booking process, candidate needs to book their date and time slots for Situation Test. Note that slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The details of the slot allocated to the candidate, exam centre, and other key details will be mentioned on the admit card.

To book a time slot and a test centre for the situation test, the candidate needs to follow these steps: Step 1: Visit the NIFT 2024 official website. Step 2: Click on the slot booking link Step 3: Login to the portal using candidate credentials - registered email ID, date of birth, roll number, and verification code. Step 4: After log-in, select NIFT situation test centres and time slot. Step 5: Submit the details. Note that slots will allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) releases the official schedule at - niftadmissions. The schedule includes the event-wise dates related to the NIFT 2025 entrance exam. This includes the release of the NIFT 2025 application form, the application last date (with regular and late fees), written exam date, declaration of results, etc. Alternatively, the candidate can follow this page to stay updated about NIFT 2025 exam.

The final results of NIFT 2023 would be prepared by giving weightage to NIFT written exams and the Situation Test/ Personal Interview.
