There is no specific number as such that you need to solve. But that being said, you must try to solve as many sample papers as possible for UCEED 2026. Note that at the initial stage, when you are starting of you exam preparation, you will not be able to solve the complete sample paper. It is only in the last few months, or may be weeks, that you can solve all the questions given in the sample papers. So, if you are able to solve may be say 10 odd sample papers before the exam, you will be in a good place to do well. There are multiple benefits of solving sample papers. UCEED 2026 Sample Paper (Mock Exam) and Sample Interface
IIT Bombay gave an option to candidates to practice for the exam by releasing UCEED Sample Exam Interface. The purpose of this interface was to provide a feel of examination interface. It was available for candidates to practice for exam. It was available at digialm.com/OnlineAssessment.
Can I practice for UCEED Exam using sample Interface?
Yes, candidates can practice on UCEED exam interface.
- The interface is designed to run on a desktop browser. It may not work on tablets or other mobile devices.
- The login details are already filled in. To begin, click on the Sign In button and follow the instructions.
- On the sample interface, the candidate can check how to answer a question, how to go to the next question, how to mark a question for reviewing later, etc.
- To see Part-B of the sample/practice exam, the candidate must wait for 30 minutes.

IIT Bombay may also conduct UCEED 2026 mock exams that candidates can take to test their exam readiness and fix areas that need attention. To prepare for the exam, it is recommended that the candidate take the mock tests.
- Mocks will help the candidate identify the weak areas, silly mistakes, and conceptual challenges that need to be fixed before the big day.
- Mock tests will contain the same type of questions as those asked in the entrance exam. So, they will typically be of the same difficulty level.

IIT Bombay will release the question paper and answer keys for UCEED 2026 soon after the conclusion of the design entrance exam. However, it may be noted that the order in which a question appears may differ for each candidate. So, the candidates must use the Master Question Paper uploaded on the official UCEED website. Use it as a reference to upload comments or feedback against the draft key. If comments are uploaded using the Master Question Paper, it will help the committee to map the candidates comments/queries to the right question.
Important Instructions for Taking UCEED Sample Exam (Mock Paper)
The candidate can solve sample papers at any time during their exam preparation. However, it is recommended that the candidate doesn't wait too long to start solving mock papers. For instance, the candidate can start solving problems given in the sample papers once they have completed a topic or chapter. To do this exercise, figure out all the problems related to that chapter and solve them.
You can move deeper into your UCEED 2026 preparation, and you will be able to solve problems from a wider spectrum.
Mock Test for UCEED 2026
IIT Bombay doesn't typically conduct any mock tests for UCEED. But mock tests are also available online and in coaching institutions.
In case IIT Bombay conducts mock tests for UCEED
- Mock tests will be in order to give students a look/ feel of the exam.
- Login details are already filled in, so aspirants need to simply click on the "Sign In" button to start the test. Do not try to log in with your UCEED 2026 registration id and password for this test.
- Sample/Practice exam is designed and optimized to run on a computer Browser.
- Clock is set at the server for UCEED sample paper. The countdown timer in the top right corner of the screen displays the remaining time available for students to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. Candidates are not required to end or submit their papers.
- Candidates can click on the ">" arrow, which appears on the left-hand side, to collapse the question palette, thereby maximising the question window. To view the question palette again, one can click on "
- Candidates can click on their "Profile" image on the top right corner of their screen to change the language during the UCEED exam for the entire question paper. On clicking of the Profile image, a drop-down will appear to change the question content to the desired language.
- In order to see part B of the sample/practice exam, the candidate must wait for 30 minutes.
Navigating to a Question
To answer a question, candidates need to perform the following steps:
- Click on the UCEED question number in the Question Palette at the right of their screen to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this option does not save the answer to the current question.
- Click on the 'Save & Next' button to save the answer for the current question and then go to the next question.
- Click on the 'Mark for Review & Next' button to save the answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question.
Answering a Question:
Procedure for answering a multiple-choice type question:
- To select your answer, click on the button of one of the options
- To deselect the selected answer, click on the button of the chosen option again, or click on the 'Clear Response' button
- To change the chosen answer, candidates need to click on the button of another option
- To save the answer, aspirants must click on the 'Save & Next' button
- To mark the question for review, click on the 'Mark for Review & Next' button.
- To change the answer to a question that has already been answered, first select that question for answering and then follow the procedure for answering that type of question.
Navigating through Sections:
- Sections in the UCEED question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen. Questions in a section can be viewed by clicking on the section name. The section one is currently viewing is highlighted.
- After clicking the 'Save & Next' button on the last question for a section, candidates will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section of the UCEED sample paper.
- Aspirants can shuffle between sections and questions anytime during the examination, as per their convenience, only during the time stipulated.
- Candidates can view the corresponding section summary as part of the legend that appears in every section above the question palette.

If you have biology as a subject in 10+2, then you can apply for B.Des programme at IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
