UCEED Exam will be conducted on january 18, 2026 by IIT Bombay. The exam will be of 300 marks and will have two parts: Part A and Part B. part A will be of 1 hours and 200 marks and Part B will be of 100 marks and of 1 hour. Part A will be computer based and part B will be offline. Topics include logical, analytical, numerical, visual questions.

UCEED 2026 Exams are approaching, and you all must be confused between important topics, previous year question papers, sample papers, etc. In this article, important topics for UCEED Part A and Part B are given. Read on to know more.

UCEED Exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026 from 9 AM to 12 PM. The exam will be conducted in 27 cities. UCEED Application is currently open with regular fees till November 05, 2025. After this, a late fee of INR 500 will be applicable. The last day to fill the application form for UCEED 2026 will be November 10, 2025, with late fees. Admit cards for UCEED will be available from January 02, 2026, onwards.

UCEED Pattern 2026

UCEED 2026 Entrance exam will have two Parts: Part A and Part B. Part A will be of 200 marks and of 1 hours. Part B will be of 100 marks and of 2 hours. UCEED Part A will be conducted online. It will be a computer-based exam, whereas Part B will be conducted offline. There is negative marking only in Part A.

Q:   What is UCEED 2026 important dates?
A: 

The important dates of UCEED 2026 cover events like the commencement and deadline to fill out the UCEED application, admit card release and exam date, result date, and seat allotment schedule. This means the important dates will cover all the events starting from the release of admission notification to the completion of the admission process. The candidate can keep track of upcoming events by consulting the important dates.

The important dates for UCEED 2026 have been released by IIT Bombay. IIT Bombay has the authority to change a pre-announced date; so candidates need to stay updated by visiting this space.

Q:   Will there be any supplementary seat allotment rounds for UCEED 2026?
A: 

IIT Bombay may conduct any complementary seat allotment round for UCEED counseling only if there are vacant seats left after the five regular seat allotment rounds. Note that, IIT Bombay will conduct FIVE seat allotment rounds. The seat allotment will be based on the merit rank of the candidate in UCEED 2026 and campus selected at the time of counseling registration. Candidates who qualify in UCEED 2026 exam can participate in counseling.

The counseling for UCEED 2026 will be held as a Joint Seat Allotment process. The participating institutes of UCEED 2026 can participate in counseling.

The candidate needs the following documents to participate in UCEED 2026 counseling.

  • Signed copy of the first page of the completed application form

Syllabus for UCEED 2026

The syllabus for Part A of UCEED 2026 is explained below.

  • Visualization and spatial reasoning: The question will be based on ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
  • Practical and scientific knowledge:The question will be on the basic scientific principles and everyday objects, like dining table, bookshelves, etc.
  • Observation and design sensitivity:Questions will be based on detail, classification, analysis, inference and prediction.
  • Environment and society:This part of the syllabus will have topics from general awareness of environmental, social and cultural connections with design
  • Analytical and logical reasoning:Question will include analytical and logical reasoning.
  • Language: Reading comprehension passage, vocabulary, antonyms and synonym. Etc.
  • Creativity:Questions on analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols.

Part-B will have questions on the following topics:

  • Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.
  • Design aptitude: The Capability to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

UCEED Counselling Round 1 will begin on April 21, 2026. The seat acceptance fee must be paid by April 29, 2026, 6 PM.

No, you cannot participate if you have not been given a merit rank in the UCEED 2026.

Counseling process for UCEED 2026 will be conducted as a Joint Seat Allotment process. To participate in the counseling, the candidate must have qualified for the UCEED 2026 and assigned a merit rank in the UCEED exam. If the candidate doesn't have a merit rank, he or she is not eligible to participate the counseling-cum-seat allotment process.

The topics for UCEED 2026 are explained in two parts: Part A and Part B.

UCEED 2026 Part-A Topics

The topics for Part A of UCEED 2026 is given below.

  • Percentage, speed, distance, direction, seating arrangement, Venn diagrams, triangles
  • Visualization & spatial reasoning: Cube analysis, pattern, recognition, surface counting
  • Geometry basics: circles, areas and volume, 2 D figures: area and parameter, 3 D figures, Construction of squares, triangles, blood relation, 3D Figure, surface areas, volume
  • Pattern completion, figure matrix, cubes and dice.
  • Basic topics of physics: gears, pulleys, basic physics like force, gravity, and inertia
  • For Analytical & logical: Image analysis, analogy, mirror images, water images,
  • Design Sensitivity & Advanced Reasoning: Fonts, Riddles, 8-piece puzzles, spot the difference
  • GK and current affairs
  • Vocab: at least 20 words, comprehension passage
  • Visual analogies, symbols, metaphors.

Part B UCEED Topics

This will include questions on drawing and design aptitude. Some of the important topics are given below.

Tips to cover the topics for UCEED 2026 Entrance Exam

  • Practice mock test once a week. Check your errors and solve them. Solve 2 per week when last month is left. Solve at least 40 mock tests in six months of preparation.
  • Solve the sample paper and PYQs. Download it from the website.
  • Practice weekly reading comprehension passage.
  • Practice 15-20 new words( vocabulary) in a week and solve a reading comprehension passage daily..
  • Practice design sketching daily. Increase the speed of sketching.

If you have biology as a subject in 10+2, then you can apply for B.Des programme at IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

To apply at IIITDM, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology subjects in 10+2.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
