Every exam seems difficult initially. If the right approach is adopted while preparing for any exam like UPSEE nothing seems difficult.
Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is conducted every year in April or May for admission into different courses for colleges in the Uttar Pradesh state.
In this article, I will be sharing my experience and tips, which helped me in maintaining a balance of preparation of boards and entrance tests.
The process starts particularly in the month of December or January with the submission of the registration. For registration, a particular amount of fee is charged. Fill the form carefully as any discrepancy found later may result in the cancellation of the registration. Also, another mandatory eligibility is that you should have scored a minimum of forty-five to fifty percent marks in each paper in the board examination.

There is no negative marking, so students should try to attempt as many questions as possible, however, if a student gives many wrong answers this would affect the rank as they keep an accuracy check. The question paper comprises of 150 questions, 50 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and the maximum marks is 600. w The total time duration for UPSEE is three hours. The students need to mark their answers on the OMR sheet provided.
For preparation, I have only referred to NCERT for all the 3 subjects. Students could also refer to other books such as SL Arora, Pradeep and RS Agarwal for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics respectively. I would suggest not referring many reference books as these might create confusion which would lead to wastage of time. Before starting the preparation, students should make notes of the important topics and prioritise accordingly, as this would help at the time of revision.
Thoroughly practise from NCERT for Chemistry, this would help to score high as the maximum questions come from directly or indirectly from NCERT books. Do not to skip the important topics such as Chemistry in Everyday Life, Nomenclature, Periodic Table. Give some more attention and practise topics such as Chemical Bonding and Chemical Equilibrium.
For Physics, I referred to my class notes to a larger extent. Students could also practise solved examples from SL Arora and questions from NCERT given at the end of each chapter. Topics such as Ray Optics, Wave Optics, Magnetic Effect, Thermodynamics, Gravitation needs more attention and practise.
For Mathematics, RS Agarwal and NCERT would be enough. Solve NCERT examples and exercise properly for Differentiation and Integration. For Probability, solving examples would be a great option to start with. Students might get questions from Trigonometry part also. In Mathematics, practise as much as possible as this would help in time management in the calculation at the time of attempting the paper.
Be careful while appearing for counselling as a registration fee of Rs 20,000 is charged, which is settled at the time of the admission, and if you do not take the admission, it will go in vain.
Another thing, I would suggest all aspirants should maintain a balance in board exams as well as UPSEE. Do not take any of these exams lightly.
At last, I would only say that the paper is of the moderate level, you will find very few questions, which could be put in the difficult category.
