SNAP Cut Offs: Key Highlights
SNAP cut offs are fixed on the basis of previous years’ trends. Which is why there is no major change in them. Check below some key points related to SNAP exam cut offs.
- SIBM Pune and SCMHRD have the highest cut offs among all SIU institutes.
- Each SNAP participating college determines the cut offs independently for PI shortlisting.
- Candidates are selected for the PI round only if they meet the cut off. Academic criteria and other aspects are secondary to selection parameters for PI.
- In the final selection, SNAP cut off plays less role than GE-PI score of the candidate. However, since the SNAP cutoff is the stepping stone, it is mandatory to meet the requirement.

No other exam score apart from SNAP is accepted by the SIU institutes for MBA admissions. Candidates who wish to pursue MBA from the Symbiosis International (Deemed) University have to appear for the SNAP exam and clear it. The SNAP exam is conducted in the month of December every month.
SNAP score is in fact valid for admission to only the 16 SIU institutes. No other private or government MBA institute accepts SNAP for admissions.
The minimum marks of every SIU institute varies. While for SIBM Pune and SCHMRD the minimum cut off is usually 95-98 percentile, the cut offs for SSBF Pune is nearly 60.
SNAP candidates are not required to apply separately for all SIU campuses. They can select colleges in the SNAP application form. However, they need to fill the PI-shortlist form separately for whichever colleges they get shortlisted.

Factors Determining SNAP Cut Offs
SNAP cut offs are determined by every SIU constituent institute independently. The institutes consider overall scoring pattern and previous year's trends to determine cut offs for admission. Following factors have been taken into consideration for determining the SNAP cut offs 2025:
- Number of exam test takers in 2025
- Difficulty level of the SNAP question paper 2025
- Number of candidates who will qualify the SNAP exam
- Overall pass percentage, highest score, average score
- Number of seats available in each institute and programme
- Previous years' SNAP cut off trends and top scores
Candidates must apply to multiple SIU insitutes as the score is not accepted by any other B School.

Yes, it is mandatory to fill the SNAP application form for admission to the MBA programmes of the SIU institute. There is a field in the SNAP application form where candidates have to mention their choice of SIU colleges and MBA courses they wish to pursue. They need to pay INR 1000 per college selection. There will be no institute specific application form released later. Candidates will have to use the SNAP application ID to fill the admission shortlist forms of the constituent institutes. If a candidate fails to mention a college in their SNAP application form, they will not be shortlisted for WAT-GE-PI of that SIU institute.

There is no passing mark in SNAP. Candidates scoring more than 0 in the exam are eligible for WAT-PI round of SIU institutes. However, shortlisting of candidates are based on SNAP cut offs, which are between 50 to 99 percentile across the 16 SIU institutes. For example, SIBM Pune cut off for PI shortlisting in 98+ percentile, while SSSS Pune cut off is 55 percentile.

Yes, it is mandatory to clear the SNAP GE-PI-WAT round for admission. Candidates planning to pursue full-time MBA from SIU institutes must know that they need not only good score in SNAP exam but also in the GE-PI-WAT round. The GE-PI-WAT round is conducted a month after the announcement of SNAP result. Those who make it to the PI shortlist need are invited for GE-PI-WAT round. If a candidate does not attend it, they are disqualified from admission.
SIU does not accept any exam score other than SNAP for MBA admission. All domestic students, must appear for the SNAP exam if they wish to pursue MBA from SIBM or any of the 16 Symbiosis institutes. The SNAP exam is conducted in December. There are three sessions and questions are asked from- English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The SNAP exam is of low difficulty level but requires practice for scoring high to meet the admission cut off.
SNAP Selection Criteria and Admission Procedure
SNAP selection criteria includes Group Exercise (GE), Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Soon after the SNAP result 2025 declaration, SIU and its constituent institutes will started the PI shortlisting process on the basis of SNAP 2024 cut off. Candidates had to clear all the admission rounds (GE-PI-WAT) to get admission into the preferred SIU institute.

SNAP Group Exercise
The Group Exercise (GE) round of SNAP accepting colleges has two phases. In the first phase, each group is given a puzzle to solve within a limited time-frame. The motive behind this exercise is to see how well can candidates coordinate and strategise as a team. In this activity, the key is to show leadership qualities, management and team work.
Second phase of GE is group discussion. Candidates are divided into groups and each group is given a different topic for debate. They are given five minutes to think of points related to the topic after which the floor is thrown open for debate. In this round, the candidates are judged for their communication ability, clarity of thoughts and ability to convince others.
SNAP Personal Interview
Personal Interview (PI) round at SIU is typically like that of other institutes, where candidates are asked to talk about themselves and their future plans. One of the most common questions asked in PI is ‘Why MBA’? The questions are also asked from their academic streams, interest and work experience. This round, assess the candidate’s thought process, communication and problem solving skills.

SNAP Written Ability Test
This round is a written test in which the candidates have to write a short essay on the given topic. At times, candidates are given a video to watch and weave a narrative around it. This round is to judge the candidates’ analytical and interpretative ability. One has to pass in all the three rounds to be eligible for admission. Admission merit list is be prepared on the basis of overall scores of candidates, from highest to lowest.
