What is SNAP percentile?

SNAP percentile refers to a candidate's rank against all the test takers, calculated on the basis of marks scored in the exam. For example, total marks in SNAP is 60, so any candidate getting the highest score out of 60 will get 99.99 percentile. In most cases more than one candidates get the highest score so their percentiles are same.

What is the passing mark in SNAP?

There is no passing mark in SNAP. Candidates scoring more than 0 in the exam are eligible for WAT-PI round of SIU institutes. However, shortlisting of candidates are based on SNAP cut offs, which are between 50 to 99 percentile across the 16 SIU institutes. For example, SIBM Pune cut off for PI shortlisting in 98+ percentile, while SSSS Pune cut off is 55 percentile.

Is it mandatory to clear the SNAP GE-PI-WAT round for admission?

Yes, it is mandatory to clear the SNAP GE-PI-WAT round for admission. Candidates planning to pursue full-time MBA from SIU institutes must know that they need not only good score in SNAP exam but also in the GE-PI-WAT round. The GE-PI-WAT round is conducted a month after the announcement of SNAP result. Those who make it to the PI shortlist need are invited for GE-PI-WAT round. If a candidate does not attend it, they are disqualified from admission.

What are the SNAP cut off determining factors?

SNAP cut offs are determined by each SIU constituent institute independently on the basis of certain factors. The cut offs vary for every SNAP accepting institute. The SNAP cut offs also vary from one year to another. They may be higher or lower in the next year as compared to past year cut offs. The main criteria on the basis of which the SNAP cut offs are determined include the following: Number of candidates who appeared in the SNAP exam Difficulty level of the SNAP exam Number of candidates who qualified the SNAP exam Pass percentage in the exam High percentile range in the exam Number of seats available in the programmes

What is the MBA selection criteria through SNAP?

Candidates are selected on the basis of SNAP cut offs for the MBA admission round which consists of Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). This round is held in February and March after the announcement of SNAP result. Candidates who clear the GE-PI-WAT round are selected for MBA admission. The parameters for selection also include class 10, 12 and graduation scores, academic profile and work experience. All SIU institutes conduct Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test but individually. Sectional SNAP cut offs may be evaluated for selection of candidate for Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview. Scores of every section will be taken into consideration for shortlisting of candidates along with their academic record. Thus, candidates must ensure that they perform well enough in each section of the SNAP exam.

Is any other exam score apart from SNAP accepted for MBA admissions at SIU?

No other exam score apart from SNAP is accepted by the SIU institutes for MBA admissions. Candidates who wish to pursue MBA from the Symbiosis International (Deemed) University have to appear for the SNAP exam and clear it. The SNAP exam is conducted in the month of December every month. SNAP score is in fact valid for admission to only the 16 SIU institutes. No other private or government MBA institute accepts SNAP for admissions.

When will SNAP 2025 cut off be announced?

The date of SNAP cut off announcement is never communicated by the Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, as the selection process is conducted by the constituent institutes individually. However, it has been seen over the years that the SNAP cut off are released about a week after exam result declaration. The SNAP cut offs are available through login at the websites of SIU institutes as candidates who pass the SNAP exam, have to fill the personal interview form based on their score and college cut off. The SNAP cut off usually ranges between 55-98 percentile. The cut offs for SIMB Pune is the highest every year and the cut offs for SIHS Pune is the lowest.

Do I need to fill multiple SNAP application forms if I want to apply to multiple Symbiosis institutes?

No, candidates need not fill multiple SNAP application forms if they want to apply to multiple Symbiosis institutes. The SNAP application form will have a field in which the candidates can select their preferred institutes and pay INR 1,000 per institute. Candidates must make sure that they make college selection wisely as the SNAP application form in not editable after submission and the fee amount is non-refundable. Also, if you haven’t selected the preferred colleges in the SNAP form, you will not be shortlisted for admission even if you meet the cut off. Thus, it is very important for you to select SIU colleges option in the SNAP application form wisely. The college selection should be final before SNAP form submission.

Is it mandatory to fill SNAP application form for admission to MBA programmes of SIU institutes?

Yes, it is mandatory to fill the SNAP application form for admission to the MBA programmes of the SIU institute. There is a field in the SNAP application form where candidates have to mention their choice of SIU colleges and MBA courses they wish to pursue. They need to pay INR 1000 per college selection. There will be no institute specific application form released later. Candidates will have to use the SNAP application ID to fill the admission shortlist forms of the constituent institutes. If a candidate fails to mention a college in their SNAP application form, they will not be shortlisted for WAT-GE-PI of that SIU institute.

What is the expected SNAP cut offs 2025 for SIU institutes?

There is usually not much change in the SNAP cut offs year on year. The average range of cut offs for MBA admission in SIU is 80-96 percentile. Does SIU accept any other exam score than SNAP?

SIU does not accept any exam score other than SNAP for MBA admission. All domestic students, must appear for the SNAP exam if they wish to pursue MBA from SIBM or any of the 16 Symbiosis institutes. The SNAP exam is conducted in December. There are three sessions and questions are asked from- English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The SNAP exam is of low difficulty level but requires practice for scoring high to meet the admission cut off.

SNAP cut off 2024 for SIBM Pune admission was around 97-98.5 percentile. For other SIU colleges, it was in the range of 70 to 95 percentile. For a few courses, the SNAP cut offs 2024 were in the range of 50-60 percentile. The 16 SIU constituent institutes released the SNAP 2024 cut offs and PI forms individually, at the time of PI shortlisting. Candidates were shortlisted on the basis of SNAP cut offs and their academic record.

\SNAP 2025 cut off percentiles are expected to be in the same range (70 to 95 percentile). The cut offs for SNAP 2025 will be released in February 2026.
