Amit Sharma conducted a seminar to discuss the essentials of KIITEE and took questions from students. The understandings gathered from that are shared below.
A number of my school students specifically from south India they ask me about KIITEE. They have a different concern regarding the nature of the exam, the level of difficulty and competition, how to prepare for the same, etc. On their request, I conducted one seminar wherein we delivered a healthy discussion on the essentials of KIITEE and took various queries raised by several students. The seminar was conducted with the support of a few of my known students who have already cleared this exam in the previous years. Here I would like to emphasise the key points of that discussion, hope it would help you in preparing for KIITEE 2020.
Self-Evaluate Through Mock Tests
The very first thing which I could make out from the seminar that to date those who have cleared it, they had a very smart approach to accomplish the task in limited time. One of my students in the seminar said hard only pays when you are smart enough to deal with every external factor influencing you, for example, your daily schedule, your time management skills and your clarity about the goal. Ankit Rana who took admission last year through KIITEE 2019 emphasises the fact that you need to keep a check that you are going in the right direction or not, you need to assess yourself every time. He suggested that an aspirant need to follow the KIITEE preparation plan.

Nishan, another student who cleared KIITEE2019 shared that the syllabus for KIITEEE and JEE Main are almost similar, so he suggested that attempting JEE Main Mock Test will support you in KIITEE 2020 preparation.
Section-wise Preparation Tips
This is another key point added to the discussion by two passes out students of KIITEE. As per them, all three sections carry equal weightage. The section-wise suggestions for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are as follows:
Preparation for Physics:
Students suggested Physics as a blend of theory and formulae to solve the numerical questions. The following suggestions were made in the seminar to prepare for the Physics section.
- Participants suggested concept clarity is the utmost important this which needs to be given the priority.
- One of the coaching institutes faculty emphasized on maintaining the list of all the formulae given in the syllabus and memorize them.
- Rahul, who cleared this exam in the first attempt, suggested that one should be clear about which formula is to be used according to the question asked. He also suggested chapter wise mock tests and developing acumen for applying concepts
- Developing a solid theoretical background was also one of the main points suggested by experts.
- Solving problems with speed and accuracy is one of the mantras to clear the exam. Well defined study plan leads you to achieve success.
Preparation for Chemistry:
Experts discussed this section with more gravity and the reason was one that is the periodic table, reactions, and mechanisms. Ashok, a second-year student at one of the KIITEE institution shared that the chemistry section of the exam majorly consists of questions related to the periodic table. He suggested that learning the periodic table and properties of various elements will help you to score high marks in chemistry. Further, he reckoned the d and f block elements is the most prominent section. You need to have sound knowledge of reactions and mechanisms in organic chemistry. This part of the chemistry section requires practice as we do in Mathematics.
Preparation for Mathematics:
The very first suggestion came from the experts was to be thorough with the basics of mathematics syllabus, Initiate with basic questions and gradually move to a higher level. The use of shortcut formula was also suggested to save time. People in the seminar also emphasized in analyzing the trend of previous papers. Apart from the subject-specific discussion people attended the seminar also emphasized a few important points which are as follows:
- Get Familiar with KIITEE Syllabus
- Get familiar with exam pattern
- Learn the concept with appropriate understanding means develop concept clarity
- Make maximum use of previous years papers
- Try to frame a paper attempt strategy
- Time management is essential
- Practice is required
- Study material should be relevant
- Attempt mock test and do your assessment
