Documents Required for GATE 2027 Registration: While filling GATE MTech application form, it is mandatory for the applicants to upload certain documents to get themselves verified. The documents are required at the time of filling GATE 2027 application form, include your scanned photograph and signature (according to specifications), followed by scanned ID proof, category certificate (if applicable). IIT Madras has revised the GATE 2027 exam date. The GATE 2027 form start date has been released. The updated schedule is given here. Interested candidates are advised to submit their application as per the schedule. The GATE 2027 registration last date to apply is available in two timelines -

• GATE 2027 registration last date with regular fees (where applicants can submit their form with usual fees)

• GATE 2027 registration last date with extended fees (where applicants have to submit their form with additional fees)

How many documents are required for GATE Registration 2027

During GATE 2027 application form filling process, candidates will need a list of documents, from which the data will be collected. However, for submission, candidates will have to upload, photograph and signature, and category certificates (optional). Here is the list of documents that will be needed during GATE exam registration 2027:

• Scanned photo and documents
• Valid ID proof (scanned and updated properly)
• Category certificate (scanned in PDF format). It is optional. OBC-NCL category do not have to provide their category certificate
• PwD or Dyslexic certificate (optional). The documents must be scanned properly and must be uploaded in PDF format

Documents Required for GATE 2027 Registration: General Category Applicants

Candidates who belong to general category and want to apply for GATE 2027 must keep the following documents ready for registration -

• Recent candidate’s passport-size photograph (not older than 3 months)

• Candidate’s signature (must be scanned properly)

• Valid ID proof, such as Aadhar card, PAN card, etc.

Both documents must be scanned properly and must be as per the specifications. In addition, candidates are advised to check GATE exam eligibilty for their respective degree before filling application form.

New Changes in GATE 2027 Registration

This year, IIT Madras have introduced two new stages in the GATE application form 2027

• In addition, candidates have to provide their facial details during registration for verification

GATE Registration through DigiLocker

Candidates must note that linking DigiLocker for GATE application form is mandatory. The following details will be fetched when filling the exam form:

• Name

• Date of Birth

• Mobile Number

• Email ID

• Profile picture

• Address

• Verified ID number

No, candidates who belong to the OBC-NCL or EWS category just have to submit their photograph, signature, and a valid ID proof at the time of registration.

Documents Required for GATE 2027 Registration: SC/ST and PwD Category

Candidates under SC/ST and PwD categories have to upload the following documents at the time of GATE registration 2027 -

• Good quality photograph and signature (as per specifications)

• Scanned copy of a valid photo ID proof

• Scanned copy of SC/ST category certificate in PDF format

• For PwD, candidates have to provide their scanned UDID/PwD certificate in PDF format

• For Dyslexic verification, candidates have to upload their dyslexic certificate in PDF format.

Candidates who want to avail scribe and compensatory time must upload the mentioned certificate in PDF format.

Documents Required for GATE Registration: International Candidates

For international applicants, the following documents are needed while filling the GATE 2027 application form -

• Scanned photo and signature

• Valid ID proof

Under valid ID proof, only a valid passport/government-issued ID or driving license is accepted.

Acceptable ID Proof for GATE 2027 Registration

The following identity proof is accepted at the time of form-filling:

• Aadhar card or Aadhar Virtual ID

• Passport

• PAN Card

• Voter ID

• Driving License

Candidates must note that the same ID must be produced while appearing for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering at the GATE exam center.

Candidates can scan documents (PDF) using mobile phone or from laptop and printer. Category certificates and ID proof can also be scanned from Google Drive. Many scanner apps are also available which can help in scanning the documents for GATE registration 2027. If one wants to resize their photo, signature and other documents, then they can do so, from MS Paint or other tools. The GATE 2027 documents must be scanned properly.
