GATE 2027 Registration Dates

IIT Madras will update the GATE exam dates on its official website. Interested candidates are advised to submit their application as per the schedule. The GATE application last date to apply will be available in two timelines -

  • GATE 2027 registration last date with regular fees (where applicants can submit their form with usual fees)

  • GATE 2027 registration last date with extended fees (where applicants have to submit their form with additional fees)

Q:   How to check the GATE application form status?

With the help of GATE application status, candidates can track their registration form, whether it is accepted or is under scrutiny. Applicants can get details regarding their application status, following process below -

  • Visit GATE offiicial website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
  • Then click on application form link
  • Enter enrollment ID and password
  • The status will be displayed on screen
  • Check and logout
Q:   What is the importance of the GATE enrollment ID?
A: 

GATE enrollment ID is different for each candidate. The identification number is generated after registration. Candidates can use enrollment ID to login and accesss at GOAPS portal. It must be kept safe to perform all GATE-related activities.

Q:   What credentials are required to retrieve GATE enrollment ID?
A: 

To retrieve GATE enrollment ID, candidates must keep their mobile number and email ID. The process can be checked below-

  • Go to gate2026.iitg.ac.in
  • Click on "forgot enrollment ID"
  • Give OTP that is received on your mobile number
  • Confirm, submit and retrieve enrollment ID
Q:   Can we give GATE exam two times in a year?
A: 

No, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering examination takes place once a year. Every year, different IITs and IISc conduct exam on rotational basis. GATE is conducted online for three hours for 30 branch papers. 

How many documents required for GATE Registration 2027

During GATE 2027 application form filling process, candidates will need a list of documents, from which the data will be collected. However, for submission, candidates will have to upload, photograph and signature, and category certificates (optional).

Documents Required for GATE 2027 Registration: General Category Applicants

Candidates who belong to general category and want to apply for GATE 2027, must keep the following documents ready for registration -

  • Recent candidate’s passport-size photograph

  • Candidate’s signature

  • Valid ID proof, such as Aadhar card, PAN card, etc.

Both documents must be scanned properly, and must be as per the specifications.

Documents Required for GATE 2027 Registration: SC/ST and PwD Category

Candidates under SC/ST and PwD categories have to upload the following documents at the time of GATE exam registration 2027 -

  • Good quality photograph and signature (as per specifications)

  • Scanned copy of a valid photo ID proof

  • Scanned copy of SC/ST category certificate in PDF format

  • For PwD, candidates have to provide their scanned UDID/PwD certificate in PDF format

  • For Dyslexic verification, candidates have to upload their dyslexic certificate in PDF format.

Candidates who want to avail scribe and compensatory time must upload the mentioned certificate in PDF format.

Documents Required for GATE Registration: International Candidates

For international applicants, the following documents are needed while filling the GATE 2027 application form -

  • Scanned photo and signature

  • Valid ID proof

Under valid ID proof, only a valid passport/government-issued ID or driving license is accepted.

For the OBC AI category, the NIT Agartala M.Tech cutoff 2026 ranged from 321 to 488 in the first round.
