When will IIT Guwahati release GATE 2026 Statistical Report PDF

The official release of the GATE statistical report 2026 has not yet been announced by IIT Guwahati. For GATE 2025, IIT Roorkee released the statistical performance report on September 17, 2025. So, candidates can expect it anytime soon, between the third and fourth week of September 2026. The statistical report timeline can be checked below.

GATE 2026 Statistical Report PDF: Overview

Each year, the organising institute, rotated among the IISc and IITs, compiles the GATE statistical report. This document serves as a master reference for candidates, academic institutions, and public sector undertakings (PSUs). In GATE 2026, 10,11,719 candidates registered for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, and 797434 candidates appeared. In the statistical report, the authorities will also provide data on the number of candidates qualified in GATE 2026. The details will be updated below:

GATE Statistical Report: Key Highlights

The components of the GATE statistical report include the following:

  • Registered, Appeared and Qualified Candidates: Total candidates who were issued a GATE admit card and those who attempted and qualified

  • GATE qualification rate: Category-wise and paper-wise qualification numbers and qualifying percentages

  • Score Distribution: GATE raw marks out of 100 and normalised score out of 1000.
  • GATE Qualifying Cutoff: Standardised GATE cutoff marks for General, SC/ST/PwD, OBC-NCL/EWS

  • Top Percentile: Mean marks of top 0.1% candidates and standard deviation values

GATE 2026 Statistical Report: Candidate’s Participation Trends

The analysis of the GATE exam statistical report also mention consistent pattern in candidate’s participation trends and overall pass percentages. In GATE 2025, conducted by IIT Roorkee, a total of 936019 candidates registered, out of which 747319 candidates appeared, and 141802 qualified for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Approximately, the qualification rate was around 18.97%.

Looking at past trends indicates that GATE qualification rate has consistently stayed between 17% and 20%, reflecting the selective nature of the exam. The overall attendance rate generally hovers around 78% to 80%, indicating that roughly one in five registered candidates are absent on exam day.
