JoSAA 2022 Counselling: Joint Seat Allocation Authority released an important instructions regarding document verification and seat allotment. Read below to know the details.

JoSAA 2022 Counselling: The JoSSA 2022 registration started on September 12, 2022 and the JoSAA 2022 Counselling Mock Seat Allotment for Round 1 and Round 2 was released. Candidates have checked the same online on the official website by using their roll number and password. Candidates who want to participate in the admission process must have completed the JoSAA 2022 counselling registration and choice filling by September 21, 2022. The centralised seat allocation for NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and School of Planning and Architecture admissions will be hosted by NIT Rourkela this year.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the JoSAA 2022 seat allotment result for round 1on September 23, 2022. JoSAA 2022 Cutoff has also been released by the conducting authority. Candidates can check institute-wise JoSAA Cutoff 2022 for the academic session 2022-23 on the official website at josaa.admissions.nic.in.

JoSAA 2022 document verification process is conducted online. Candidates who are allotted a seat need not go to Verification (Reporting) centres physically. Those candidates who have registered, uploaded documents and paid the seat acceptance fee, document verification will be carried out by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority online virtual reporting centres within the scheduled dates. During the online document verification, the verifying user will verify DOB, Category, PwD, KM, and passing status and update accordingly.

After allocation of a seat during JoSAA 2020 Counselling, candidates are required to log in to their account on the official portal to accept the allotted seat. Students must also strictly follow the JoSAA 2022 schedule for subsequent activities. All students are advised to start the process at the earliest without to avoid any last-minute hassle.

Q:   What can students do after JEE Main session 2 result?
A: 

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced

Q:   How much rank should I score to get IIT Madras?
A: 

To get in IIT Madras, students have to meet the cutoff. The closing rank usually goes to 150 - 200 for top BTech branches. BTech CSE is the most competitive BTech specialisation. The closing rank for lower branches is around 7433. IIT Madras cutoff 2026 will be out soon for BTech. 

Q:   Who is eligible for M.Tech in IIT Madras?
A: 

For admission to IIT Madras, candidates must pass Class 12 and graduation before applying for the course. As per the minimum eligibility requirements for the course, candidates need a BE/BTech/BArch degree or a master's in Science/Arts with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST/PwD). Qualifications from exams by recognised professional societies are also accepted. Further, candidates will be selected based on a valid GATE score.

Apart from this, candidates who graduated from IITs with BTech degree and having CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above are eligible to apply for direct admission without GATE score. In addition, it is also crucial that the applicant hold the relevant documents as a proof of eligibility that has to be submitted at the time of registration and documents verification after gettting admission.

Q:   Can I get MTech in IIT Bombay with GATE?
A: 

Yes, GATE score is required to get admission to IIT Bombay course. However, aspirants who have not qualified GATE can also get admission based on written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round. In order to be eligible to apply for the course, an aspirant must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for MTech course.

JoSAA 2022 Document Verification: Instructions to follow

After login, candidates have to follow the below-given instructions for document verification and seat allotment:

  • A candidate is required to submit the willingness option (FREEZE/SLIDE/FLOAT) online
  • A candidate is required to upload the (applicable) Documents as per the list of documents given in Business Rule
  • Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (Rs 45,000 for GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL, Rs. 20,000 for SC, ST and PwD Candidates)
  • The uploaded documents will be verified ONLINE by the verifying officers
  • During online verification, verifying officer may raise query (ies) which will be visible to the candidate in their login account on JoSAA portal. Candidates are advised to respond to the queries as soon as possible as there may be further query raised by the verifying officer.
  • Candidates are also advised to visit their log in account frequently till their entire queries are resolved
  • A candidate is Mandatorily Required to respond to the query (ies) raised by the verifying officer within the stipulated time period mentioned in the schedule for each round. In case the query has not been responded the allotted seat may get cancelled.
  • At the time of admission, if the documents submitted by the candidate are found to be forged/fake, then the seat allotted will be cancelled
  • After online verification of the documents, the seat may be confirmed or cancelled and the Provisional Seat Confirmation or seat cancellation letter will be generated based on updated credentials of the candidate
  • Candidates can download the Document Verification-cum-Seat Acceptance Letter or seat cancellation letter from their account
  • Seat Up-gradation: If a candidate accepts the allocated seat with floating/sliding option, and if he/she is allotted a different seat in a subsequent round, then his/her currently offered/accepted seat will automatically be forfeited
  • In the subsequent rounds, candidates with SLIDE /FLOAT options have to check their account for any upgradation in their allotment and may update their option
  • In case a candidate has been allotted a seat in NIT+System in one round and his/her seat is upgraded to IIT system in subsequent round(s) or vice versa, the candidate will not have any claim on a previously allotted seat. Moreover, in such cases, his/her uploaded documents will be verified again in the new system. Such candidates must have to respond to a query(ies) raised by verifying officer in the new system, if any, failing which his/her currently allotted seat will be cancelled and the candidate will be out of JoSAA-2022 counselling.
  • Candidates may use the WITHDRAW /EXIT options if they wish as per details given in the JoSAA-2022 Business Rules

Q:   How much CAT percentile is required for DMS IIT Delhi?

DMS IIT Delhi cutoff 2025 for Management courses, including MBA, is based on valid CAT scores. For DMS IIT Delhi MBA admission, students must meet both the overall CAT cut-off percentile and the sectional cut-off. Q:   What is the minimum eligibility criteria of IIT Delhi MDes programme?
A: 

For IIT Delhi M.Des admission, candidates must have passed BE/ BTech/ BDes/ BArch or equivalent degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates are also required to appear for the CEED entrance test.

Q:   What is the eligibility for PhD through GATE at IIT Bombay?
A: 

GATE is one of the entrance exams for PhD admission. However, aspirants can also get admission in PhD based on CSIR NETCEEDUGC NET or written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview round for final selection. Along with GATE score, candidates also need to fulfil the eligibiltiy requirements. Aspirants must complete Bachelor or Masters or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Technology or master's or equivalent degree in Science or Arts/ Commerce with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) for PhD admission.

Q:   Which exam score is accepted for IIT Bombay admissions for the M.Tech course?
A: 

IIT Bombay accepts GATE score for admission to MTech course. Candidates must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharma/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category). For MTech General-All India, cut offs for GATE 2024 closed off at score 600 for MTech in Chemical Engineering and 750 for Computer Science and Engineering. Similarly, for MTech in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, the GATE score closed off on 650

No, JoSAA counselling is not required for the students who want to take admission on the basis of entrance in BTech at Army Institute of Technology, Pune. Only entrance scores are considered at the time of admission. Students need to submit JEE Mains scorecard at the time of admission.
