Complete the revision of the entire syllabus one or two months before the scheduled entrance exam. Practise question banks of last years and mock tests to enhance speed and accuracy.
Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE) is a state-level entrance examination for admission in degree level engineering institutions and other professional colleges affiliated to AKTU. In this article, we will discuss the last month preparation tips to score high in UPSEE.
Correct study material (Books/Notes)
The candidate could refer to NCERT textbooks for clearing the concepts and solving question banks or previous year to easily clear UPSEE.
To clear the concepts of Chemistry and Physics, the students could refer to NCERT and also solve the numerical problems. However, for Mathematics, students could refer to other reference books like R.D Sharma.

The students could refer to study material or reference books basis their preference as in all the books same concepts are discussed, the only difference is the way of solving a particular problem. Some of the important reference books are given below:
- Mathematics (Concepts) - R.D Sharma/R.S Agarwal
- Chemistry (Concepts) - NCERT Textbooks
- Chemistry (Reference Book) – Pradeep/Dinesh Publications Book
- Physics (Concepts) – NCERT Textbooks
- Physics (Reference Book) – Pradeep/Dinesh Publications Book
For sample paper or last year question papers, students could opt for any of the publications for attempting it offline. If the students are preparing for online exam (for paper five to eleven) then they could opt for mock papers available online.
Examination Structure
The paper of UPSEE is a bit lengthy so one must focus on maintaining speed from the starting of the exam. The exam pattern of UPSEE is as follows:
Mode of the Exam
Engineering, Medical, Agriculture and Architecture: Offline
Other disciplines: Online
Question Type – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
No. of Questions
Paper 1- Physics- 50 MCQs/ Chemistry-50 MCQs/ Mathematics-50 MCQs
Paper 2- Physics-50 MCQs/ Chemistry-50 MCQs/ Biology- 50 MCQs
Paper 3- Agriculture-1-50 MCQs/Agriculture-2-50 MCQs/Agriculture-3-50 MCQs
Note: There are some papers for other disciplines but syllabus and pattern generally changes every year so for them go to the UPSEEE official website.

Topic-wise Weightage - There is no topic-wise weightage in UPSEE
Revision Approach
To crack this exam, the study plan should be a bit different. Student should focus on NCERT Text Books rather than high-level competitive books and coaching’s study material.
Revision of each subject and every topic is important as UPSEE does not have weightage for topics. The revision of the entire syllabus should be completed one or two months before the scheduled entrance exam and during last one or two months, students must solve question banks of last years as this would help in developing speed and accuracy.
Self-Evaluation (Mock Papers/ Sample Papers)
For self-evaluation and paper analysis, the best way is to go for mock papers or sample papers as this would help in properly understanding the level of question that could be asked in the exam. Solving the maximum number of mock papers would also help in developing speed and accuracy during the exam.
