KCET 2018 was conducted on two days - April 18 and April 19. The online application for the exam commenced in the month of April and KCET 2018 results are expected in May, 2018. View KCET 2018 important dates here.
Soon after the exam was over, KCET answer keys were released by experts and coaching institutes. These answer keys gave students a chance to predict their score and thereafter their rank in the exam. After successfully performing this task, candidates move on to shortlisting colleges for admissions.

To make this task of shortlisting colleges for admissions easier for students, Shiksha has launched the KCET 2018 College Predictor Tool.
This predictor tool helps candidates in finding out which college and engineering branch they can hope to secure admissions in on the basis of their rank in KCET 2018. Further, aspirants can also find out the closing ranks for admissions in different engineering branches and colleges in the state of Karnataka.
The tool comprises of many features which candidates can explore. Here’s how you should go about using the tool:

Step 2: Enter your Rank/Merit Number and select your category from the nice given categories including:
- GM – General Merit
- GMK – General Merit Kannada
- GMR - General Merit Rural
- SC – Scheduled Caste
- SCK – Scheduled Caste Kannada
- SCR - Scheduled Caste Rural
- ST – Scheduled Tribe
- STK – Scheduled Tribe Kannada
- STR - Scheduled Tribe Rural
Step 3: Now select your State Quota Eligibility. You would have two options two choose from: All India (AI) Quota and Home State (HS) Quota.
The AI quota can be availed by every eligible candidates. While under the HS quote, seats are reserved for students on the basis of their eligibility which is basically the state where they have completed their Class 11th and 12th from.
Step 4: Select your preferred colleges. This is an optional step which you may or may not skip.
Step 5: After filling in the above details, press the ‘Show Results’ button. At this step, you will be able to view the list of colleges you would be eligible on the basis of your KCET 2018 rank. Subsequently, aspirants will also be shown information about college, branch name, location and closing rank.
Besides this, candidates would also be able to go through reviews, QnA and articles around a particular college. Students can also download college brochures from this KCET 2018 College Predictor Tool, if interested.
This tool will also an aspirant compare two or more colleges on the basis of College Rankings, Alumni Placement Data, Exam required & Cutoffs, Course fee Affiliation & more.
Another interesting feature of this multi-faceted tool is college comparison which helps students compare two or more colleges on the basis of College Rankings, Alumni Placement Data, Exam required & Cutoffs, Course fee Affiliation & more. In case, you are unable to decide between two or more colleges (in which you are eligible for admission), you must use this feature to take a decision.
To compare colleges, candidates will first have to hit the ‘Add to Compare’ box mentioned below the name of each college. One can compare maximum of four colleges at one time. After selecting colleges for comparison, click on the ‘Compare’ button.
