Candidates will have to attempt 130 objective questions from Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English and Logical Reasoning. The authority has announced the BITSAT exam date 2026. The authority conducts the BITSAT exam in two sessions. The BITSAT 2026 session 1 exam is scheduled from April 15 to 17, while the session 2 exam will be held from May 24 to 26, 2026. Candidates can appear in any one or both sessions. In case students appear for both the best of the two will be considered.

Q:   How many questions will be present in the BITSAT paper?

In BITSAT, students have to answer 130 objective questions. Each question will have four options. Correct one has to be selected. If all questions are finished before time, then additional 12 questions will be given to students to solve for extra marks.

Q:   What is the division of questions in BITSAT pattern?
A: 

The BITSAT question paper is divided into four section. For the Mathematics/Biology section, there will be 40 questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions in each section. Logical Reasoning will have 20 and English Proficiency will have 10 questions. There will 130 questions in the question paper.

12 Additional Questions in BITSAT 2026 Question Paper

Students are given 12 additional questions if they finish exam before time. No extra time will be given for additional questions. Authorities will prepare questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning sections. Once students start these additional questions, they cannot edit their previous answers.

Students will not be given any extra time to complete 12 additional questions in BITSAT paper. Additional questions have to be solved within 3 hours. These will only be provided if students complete 130 original questions before exam ends.

BITSAT additional questions will be available for students if they finish answering all 130 questions and still have time left. No additional time will be given to complete additional 12 questions. This allows students to score extra marks in exam.

Students will be given 12 additional questions if they finish all 130 questions within 3 hours. Three questions will be available from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Logical Reasoning. Students will not be able to go back to previously answered 130 questions, once they start solving additional questions.

BITSAT 2026 Syllabus

BITSAT 2026 syllabus has been published on the official website. The syllabus mentions the subjects, units and topics that must be studied for the test. The BITSAT syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Logical Reasoning, similar to the level of 11th and 12th standard qualifying entrance exam. Knowing the syllabus will allow the candidates to know how to prepare for the examination. While the PCM subjects are familiar to those who are preparing for JEE Mains and other engineering entrances, the English and logical reasoning sections become the extra sections that require additional practice and fetch marks in the test.

BITS, Pilani, conducts the BITSAT exam in two shifts. The timings for the morning session are from 9 AM to 12 PM, and others are from 2 PM to 5 PM in the afternoon session. Candidates can select the BITSAT slot timings using the BITSAT slot booking system.

If students forget to book their BITSAT exam slot, then authorities will automatically allot them from available slots. Once slots are allotted, candidates cannot request authorities to change it. Candidates are advised to complete slot booking themselves.
