BITSAT 2026 exam pattern will be available soon. Candidates can check details about how the entrance exam will be conducted through BITSAT exam pattern. During preparation, students have to know how exam will be conducted so that they are prepared to do well. BITSAT 2026 will be held as an online test. During the 3 hour exam, candidates will have to attempt 130 objective questions from Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English and Logical Reasoning. Q:   How many sessions are held for BITSAT?

The authority conducts the BITSAT exam in two sessions. The BITSAT 2026 session 1 exam is scheduled from April 15 to 17, while the session 2 exam will be held from May 24 to 26, 2026. Candidates can appear in any one or both sessions. In case students appear for both the best of the two will be considered.

Q:   What is the division of questions in BITSAT pattern?
A: 

The BITSAT question paper is divided into four section. For the Mathematics/Biology section, there will be 40 questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions in each section. Logical Reasoning will have 20 and English Proficiency will have 10 questions. There will 130 questions in the question paper.

Q:   How many questions will be present in the BITSAT paper?

In BITSAT, students have to answer 130 objective questions. Each question will have four options. Correct one has to be selected. If all questions are finished before time, then additional 12 questions will be given to students to solve for extra marks.

Highlights of BITSAT 2026 Exam Pattern

BITSAT 2026 will be held online. For every question, there will be four options. Students will have to select correct option. For every wrong answer, there will be negative marking. If students finish all 130 questions within allotted time, then they can attemp additional 12 questions.

The authorities hae announced the BITSAT 2026 exam date for both sessions. Students can attempt one of both exam sessions. BITSAT will be held as an online test from April 15 to 17, 2026 (session 1) and May 24 to 26, 2026 (session 2).

Q:   What are the BITSAT exam slot timings?
A: 

BITS, Pilani, holds the BITSAT examination in two shifted sessions. The timings for the morning session are from 9 AM to 12 PM, and others are from 2 PM to 5 PM in the afternoon session. Candidates can select the BITSAT slot timings using the BITSAT slot booking system.

Q:   How are the answers marked in the BITSAT exam?
A: 

According to BITSAT exam pattern, every correct answer will be given 3 marks. Maximum marks for BITSAT is 390. For every wrong answer, one mark will be cut. Since there is negative marking, students should be careful while selecting questions to answer.

12 Additional Questions in BITSAT 2026 Question Paper

Students are given 12 additional questions if they finish exam before time. No extra time will be given for additional questions. Authorities will prepare questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning sections. Once students start these additional questions, they cannot edit their previous answers.

BITSAT additional questions will be available for students if they finish answering all 130 questions and still have time left. No additional time will be given to complete additional 12 questions. This allows students to score extra marks in exam.

Q:   Is extra time given for the 12 BITSAT additional questions?
A: 

Students will not be given any extra time to complete 12 additional questions in BITSAT paper. Additional questions have to be solved within 3 hours. These will only be provided if students complete 130 original questions before exam ends.

BITSAT 2026 Syllabus

BITSAT 2026 syllabus will be released online. Candidates are also advised to check the syllabus while preparing for the upcoming entrance examination. Through the syllabus, the candidates will be able to understand which subjects, units and topics have to be studied. BITSAT syllabus will consist of topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Logical Reasoning, similar to the level of 11th and 12th standard qualifying entrance exam.
