Types of Sociology Courses -UG & PG 

Sociology is one of the most preferred courses in India. There are various types of sociology courses including full-time or regular Sociology courses, BA in Sociology, MA in Sociology, PhD in Sociology and so on. The duration of Sociology courses may depend upon the type of course. Sociology courses can be of a few months to 5 years duration. Candidates can take admission in Sociology course right after passing class 12th. To pursue higher courses in Sociology, candidates need to have a UG or PG pass certificate in Sociology. 

Popular Sociology Courses -UG & PG

Sociology courses are of different types in India. Most of the Sociology courses are taught in full time or regular mode while a number of Sociology courses are available in diploma level and certificate level. Sociology Degree Courses -UG

Candidates can take admission in IGNOU to study sociology. 

Online Sociology Courses -UG & PG 

There are many colleges and institutes that offer online and certification courses in Sociology. These are short duration courses and candidates can study these courses from any location in India. After pursuing the online Sociology courses candidates can get multiple job opportunities in different private and government sectors like advertising agencies, healthcare, media research, journalism etc. 

Sociology Degree Courses -PG

Sociology at PG level is a master level course. In order to pursue MA in Sociology, candidates need to have a qualified bachelor degree in sociology or a relevant bachelor degree from a recognised institute. Sociology at PG level is a master level course. In order to pursue MA in Sociology, candidates need to have a qualified bachelor degree in sociology or a relevant bachelor degree from a recognised institute. It is a two-year master level course. Candidates develop analytical and critical thinking ability at PG level in Sociology. MA in Sociology includes subjects like society welfare-based systems including interactions, elements of society, religion, discipline and communities. 

Distance Sociology Courses -PG

Candidates can pursue MA in Sociology in distance mode. MA in Sociology is also called Master of Arts in Sociology (MSO) in IGNOU. The duration of the course is 2 to 5 years. There is no minimum or maximum age limit for the course.

For BA Sociology, choose the Sociology subject in the domain-specific section. I would personally suggest you consider adding two more subjects, like History, Political Science, Psychology, etc. Also, don't forget to check the specific subject requirements of the university you're aiming for.
