The 21th edition of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) will be conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The AIBE 21 Exam Date 2026 is June 7, 2026. The exam will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm. The AIBE Exam will be multiple-choice question-based. The Lawyers appearing in the AIBE 21 (XXI) exam will receive the Certificate of Practice (COP) only if they clear it. AIBE 21 exam question paper had questions from 19 subjects. Each of the topics carried a different weightage. There was questions from Company Law, Constitutional Law and more.

Q:   Can I appear for AIBE Exam if I have not completed the syllabus?
A:

Yes you can appear for the All India Bar Examination even if you have not fully completed your syllabus. But only if you are a final year student with no backlogs. You can also appear if you have passed but are waiting your degree.

AIBE Exam is tough to crack as its the certification exam. Candidates who will clear the exam will be issued CoP. Candidates must prepare for the exam pretty well to clear in first attempt.

Both exams are national level. While AIBE is a certification exam, CLAT is an entrance exam to get admission into NLUs. The difficulty level of both the exams are more or less same.

Until 2020, the AIBE Exam used to be conducted in an open-book format. While many students have requested to make it open book again, no decision on this have been taken so far.
