Commonly asked questions
Q:   If I am preparing for TSLAWCET exam, do I need to prepare separately for CLAT?
A:

Yes, you need to prepare separately for CLAT even if you are studying for TS LAWCET, because both exams have different patterns, difficulty levels, and syllabuses.

  • TS LAWCET focuses mainly on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Mental Ability, and Aptitude for the Study of Law. The questions are usually objective and simpler, designed for state-level admissions.
  • CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a national-level exam with a more analytical and comprehension-based pattern. It includes sections like English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

So, while some topics like Current Affairs and Legal Aptitude overlap, the approach and depth required for CLAT are much higher. Preparing separately ensures you meet the specific demands of each exam.

Q:   Is the syllabus for TSLAWCET and TSPGLCET same?
A:

The TS LAWCET and TSPGLCET exams have different syllabuses because they are meant for different levels of law courses.

  • TS LAWCET is for admission into 3-year and 5-year LLB programs. Its syllabus includes:
    • General Knowledge and Mental Ability
    • Current Affairs
    • Aptitude for the Study of Law
  • TSPGLCET (Telangana State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test) is for admission into LLM courses. Its syllabus focuses on advanced legal subjects, such as:
    • Jurisprudence
    • Constitutional Law
    • Public International Law
    • Mercantile Law
    • Labour Law
    • Crimes and Torts
    • IPR and Other Laws

So, while both are law entrance exams conducted by Osmania University on behalf of TSCHE, their syllabuses are not the same.

Q:   Was TS LAWCET tough?
A:

Many students feel TS LAWCET was not too tough, but it depends on how well you prepared. The exam checks your speed, logic, and law basics. If you studied GK, current affairs, and legal aptitude daily, it feels easier. TS LAWCET exam needs focus and practice, so with right plan you can score good marks easily.

Q:   From where can I get previous years' question papers of the TS LAWCET?
A:

The TS LAWCET 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB previous years' questions are available for download. You can download the question paper using proper credentials and use the document for your effective TSLAWCET exam preparation. Moreover, you can purchase the best books for TS LAWCET preparation to get TS LAWCET previous years' question papers along with answer keys.
