XAT General Knowledge Preparation 2027: XAT, or Xavier Aptitude Test, is an entrance test conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, once a year for admission to its MBA Business Management and MBA Human Resource Management courses. The entrance exam includes four sections, General Knowledge being one of them. It is a memory-based section, so preparing for GK is easy. However, students find it difficult to prepare for the General Knowledge exam as the topics are vast.
Though XAT GK score is not considered for percentile calculation, candidates must prepare well to score good marks in the exam. For this, practicing XAT question papers of previous years and XAT mock tests helps a lot. XLRI will conduct XAT 2027 in January in online mode. Preparation Tips for XAT General Knowledge 2027
To score well in GK section, candidates need to be well aware of dates and events from history, geography, and business and economics, sports, science, and tech. etc. Check below to get important preparation tips for GK section of XAT exam.
Prepare a Study Plan
Make a proper study plan and divide the topics accordingly based on the time left for the entrance exam. GK section is comparatively easier than the other three sections of the exam, but taking it lightly is also not helpful. Set a weekly target and analyze the preparation level.
Make a List of Important Events
While preparing for General Knowledge section, make a list of important dates and events related to business, economy, and other important topics related to MBA course. The notes will help in revising the key facts and dates during last-minute XAT preparation. For Static GK, the syllabus is vast, so analyze past papers to identify the important topics to focus on and cover them first.
Read Newspaper & Watch News Daily
Make sure to read newspapers and watch top news channels to stay updated with recent events. These can help in answering Current GK questions in the examination.
Practice Strategic Section Management
XAT question paper includes four sections and other sections include numerical questions that can be time consuming. Therefore, practice strategic time management for GK section. Practice last five years' papers and time yourself while answering questions. Train yourself to give only 20-30 seconds for reading and answering a question.

To get a seat in the FLAME University of the MBA/PGDM course, you have to appear for any one of the accepted exams, like CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. After clearing the exam, you have to get shortlisted for further admission round, which involves PI or GD.

The XLRI waitlist movement is usually high for Delhi campus between 350 to 600 spots. For Jamshedpur the movement is low between 100 to 180 for BM and 130 to 230 for HRM.
