Aspirants of any postgraduate entrance test often juggle between work and preparation for the examination. For those preparing for NEET PG 2026 exam, balancing their work with the preparation becomes a real struggle. Most of the candidates who appear for NEET PG 2026 are working as an intern during the preparation phase. Many others have already started working as a Junior Resident or have set up their own clinics. The biggest challenge for such candidates is to manage their time efficiently and to understand the priority order of subjects/topics that need to be prepared.

Q:   Which part is difficult in NEET PG syllabus?
A:

As such no section is easy in NEET PG syllabus. Some candidates may find clinical section easy while others may perceive para clinical as difficult. In reality, all the three sections clinical pre and para clinical are equally difficult and candidates have to devote good amount of time to prepare in and out of every subjects. It must be noted, a good number of questions are clinical based, so this section holds huge importance.

Some topics of pre and para clinical are utmost important as lots of questions are from them. Point is candidates should prepare all three sections in such manner so that 90 percent questions can be answered easily. Last year, clinical section was difficult in comparision to other two sections.

Q:   How to study effectively to score good rank in NEET PG exam?
A:

Before starting NEET PG preparation, candidates need to have plan and strategies in place. Effective time management is crucial for the preparation. First of all take stock of the situation where actually you stand in terms of preparation. You should ask yourself following questions:

  • Which are the topics your are confident at
  • Which are the subjects which needs more attention
  • Which are the subjects where you need to start from scratch
  • What are your srength and weakness

These are some of the prembles of your preparation strategies. Following after make daily schedule allocating specific time for each subject. Try to cover those subjects first where you feel confident of scoring well. Try to finish syllabus at least a month before exam. 

 

Q:   Does NBE conduct NEET PG in pen and paper mode?
A:

No. Unlike NEET, NBE conducts NEET PG exam in computer-based mode. NEET PG pattern is declared by NBE along with the official information brochure. NEET PG pattern comprises details regarding mode and medium of exam, total number of questions, allotted time and marking scheme. As per the existing pattern, total 200 multiple choice questions are asked in NEET PG exam and candidates are provided 3.5 hours to answer them. Medium of the question paper is English only. There is no option to choose the language of the question paper. For every right answer, 4 marks is awarded and negative response -1 is deducted.

How to prepare for NEET PG 2026 exam with a job?

Finding a mentor

NEET PG 2026 preparation can be a whole lot easier if you find a mentor for yourself. Seek help from anyone who has cleared the examination before you. You can also ask for advice from one of your college professors. One important thing to remember while choosing a mentor is that you must trust this person’s advice. The mentor-mentee relationship majorly works on trust and belief. If you do not trust your mentor, you will not abide by their advice.

Only then you will be able to dedicate sufficient time for your preparation. There are three important factors that must be considered while preparing a time table, they are:

  • Self-study
  • Revision
  • Coaching
  • Mock-tests

Self-study

A crucial part of your preparation is the time when you read and revise on your own. Self-study should comprise at least 60% of the total time that you spend studying each day. Self-study would also include the time that you spend on revision every day.

Q:   How difficult is the NEET PG?
A:

NEET PG is a higher-level exam with a high level of competition. The NEET PG exam syllabus is extensive and covers all 19 subjects that a medico studies during the MBBS. The student's preparation time is also limited, and they must balance coursework and an internship.

This leaves little to no time to prepare for the NEET PG. A student works an internship at a hospital before the NEET PG exam, and the shifts are unpredictable. A lack of preparation time combined with intense competition makes NEET PG a difficult nut to crack. At the same time, it is not impossible task to score well in the exam. Candidates only need proper preparation, planning, and consistent efforts. What matters is that you believe in yourself and work towards your goal.

Q:   Was NEET PG 2025 question paper difficult?
A:

NEET PG 2025 question paper was difficult as compared to last year. The overall difficulty level of the question paper was  moderate to difficult. More than 80 pecent questions were based on clinical scenerio. A good number of questions were asked from topics such as Surgury, Gynaecology (OBS GYNE) and other topics. 160-170 questions were easy to attempt.

Q:   Can I crack NEET PG in first attempt?
A:

Yes, one can crack NEET PG exam in first attempt if he/she studies with proper planning and strategies. Though it is little difficult, but not impossible. It must be noted, NEET PG is one of the toughest medical exams, so candidates need to know in and out of each subject. First of all complete all the subjects throughly, focusing on concepts. Clear your doubts with seniors or experts. Appear in mock test regularly to take stock of the situation and plan accordingly. At least 2 revision is must before exam. Do refer last few year question papers, to understand weightage from each subjects. 

Coaching only on weekends

To get the most out of the coaching institutes, join weekend classes. One of the many benefits of joining weekend coaching is that you will not be a rush to go anywhere. This will help you focus better in the classes or tests. Also, you will be able to spare time for doubt-clearing sessions and discuss the topics that you are finding difficult. Weekend coaching classes will also ensure that you have enough time for self-study during the weekdays.

Practice papers and mock tests

Another important part of the preparation phase is solving NEET PG 2026 mock tests and sample papers. You have to dedicate sufficient time for these in while preparing the time table. You must also ensure that you spare some time for the analysis of the results of these mock tests.

Plan ahead for the revision

The last tip to prepare for NEET PG 2026 with a job is to be regular for work during the preparation phase. Saving on all the unnecessary leaves will give you extra days before the examination. You can avail of these extra leaves just before the examination and spend this time on revision. This will also help you stay focused during the last few days of your preparation.
