The secret to success is making a proper time table and follow it according to that planning. Deepthi shares similar tips which can help you crack the NEET exam even with last month preparation.
National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entry ticket to various medical colleges across the country. The syllabus of NEET and Board examinations is too vast and you have to manage both simultaneously to understand and memorise each and every concept. With only one month left, many of the candidates have completed their syllabus and are in the revision mode right now and then there are some who are still in a state of confusion thinking how to strategise their preparation. Here are some tips that will help you prepare in one month’s time:

- NEET Examination Structure
- NEET Focus Points
- NEET Revision Approach
- NEET Self-Evaluation
NEET Study Material
Working hard to achieve any goal is important, similarly planning out a schedule is also most important. The secret to success is making a proper time table and following according to that planning. And my advice to the candidates is that you have to plan your preparation to secure a good score in such a highly competitive exam. Best books for NEET are NCERT textbooks. These strengthen your basic understanding skills, knowledge and command over the basic topics, fundamental concepts and problem-solving and ability to think in a logical manner. Follow the material which you have prepared and revised from at the starting of the NEET preparation. Follow your class notes, revise thoroughly as many as you can.
NEET Examination Structure
The syllabus given by the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) is the main material for the NEET examination. It consists of three sections namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Biology includes both Botany and Zoology. The salient feature of this NEET exam pattern mode is offline. This exam pattern denotes span of three hours where candidates must answer 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Ninety questions from Biology, 45 from Physics and 45 from Chemistry are asked in the exam. For each correct response, four marks are given and for each incorrect response one mark is deducted.
NEET Focus Points
For getting the highest score in NEET, you must focus on some important topics which have the highest weightage. And you have the overview of chapter-wise weightage also. You can expect and suspect exactly which topics are having more weightage by checking previous years question papers. You can also have good analysis by referring to previous papers and you might know which topics and chapters carry the highest marks. We should not commit mistakes of ignoring important topics and chapters. If you are well-versed with NEET syllabus, and if you know important topics then it is easy to prepare well and score well. Try to cover each and every topic and at last start revising only important chapters which you are familiar with. Maximum syllabus can be covered from Class 11th and 12th only. Most of the experts have analysed this from previous year’s papers only. Important topics from Physics such as Mechanics, Semiconductors, Heat & Thermodynamics, Law of Motion, Work Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Current Electricity & Magnetism, Electrostatic and Optics, etc. Important topics from Chemistry are organic chapters. Equilibrium, Chemical Bonding, Electro Chemistry, Chemical Kinematics, S, P, D, F Block Elements, Aldehydes, Carboxylic Acids and Coordination Compounds, etc. Important topics from Biology are Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Genetics and Evolution, Cellular Structure and Function, Biotechnology, Ecology, etc. Biology is an important, easy and scoring subject.
NEET Revision Approach
- Revision plays a crucial role in any examinations. In the last month, revise the books which you have already followed. Don’t read new books.
- Pay attention to what teachers said like last month crash course, this definitely will help you in the examination.
- Practice each and every chapters twice or thrice. Go through running note daily. Don’t ignore NCERT textbooks. Memorize each and every topic through tables, symbols flowcharts, graphs and diagrams. Memory maps may help you a lot.
- Attempt as many mock tests as you can, this will help you in managing time. Go to college or institute for writing mock tests because doing this daily may reduce your stress and tension, your mind can habituate examination atmosphere.
- Avoid stress and don’t lose confidence. Being persistent throughout the study phase. Avoid distractions and also avoid social media, not technology.
- Recall important formulae each and every day. Always try to clear all doubts and keep your mind clean and fresh.
NEET Self-Evaluation
Self-estimation and self-evaluation finally lead to success. Giving mock tests and checking the score and analysing errors, not repeating the same error again and again definitely leads to great success ahead. Practising sample question papers and previous questions give you more confidence and overview of the subject. Do as many mistakes as you can but don’t repeat the same mistakes again and again. At the not to follow many books only focus on limited books. Day by day you must check your score by giving mock tests, you should improve your score also. Don’t be disappointed if you get a low score during mock tests. Identify where you are doing mistakes, make them a note and try to avoid that in NEET. Let you know by yourself which subject or chapters or topics are weak and vice versa. Read thoroughly and give mock tests twice a day. Self-examination must be done twice or thrice a week. Group discussion must be once in a week. These definitely will help you to crack NEET with good score. Avoid stress and tension. Have a sound sleep before one week of examination.
