Is it possible to get 600 marks in NEET 2025?

Last year, even after getting more than 600 marks, candidates were not allotted a government medical college. As per some top coaching institutes, this year, the NEET question paper was difficult, hence the chances of getting marks in the range between 501 to 600 are very difficult where the NEET cutoff 2025 this year for general category candidates can stand between 490 and 520 marks, while the cutoff for others can adjust accordingly.

NEET 2025 Marks vs Rank

The relation of marks to rank of NEET 2025 is based on a variety of factors such as paper difficulty level, average number of candidates and seats availability. A score range of 501 to 600 is deemed a respectable score, and the candidates with scores in the range at times fall in as competitive rank for several medical and dental colleges. Based on previous years of data, last year's trend, particularly NEET 2023 and the preceding year 2024, should result in 501 to 600 marks or even higher on the allotment to government, semi-government and private medical institutions in their respective state quota or reserved category.

Admission Scope with 501–600 Marks in NEET 2025

For NEET 2025, a score in the range of 501 to 600 opens many avenues for admission, but attaining a government MBBS seat may be difficult for general category students. This is because the cutoffs can be high for general category students. Here is a breakdown of your chances for admissions.

Government Medical Colleges through NEET exam
General Category: Admission to an MBBS seat in a government college with 501-525 marks is a little bit tough. As NEET cutoffs are usually 550 and above. although this year, as per the level of difficulty of NEET exam, cut-off can be a bit lower than last year's exam cut off.

Reserved Category (SC/ST/OBC): Most candidates who fall under these categories have a higher chance than the general category students. Again, the state quota has its advantages. an example can be taken from Karnataka, where 470 marks can secure an OBC/SC/ST candidate a seat.
