The most alarming question that arises in the minds of NEET aspirants is how to prepare for NEET? How much time should be given to the studies? What should be the approach to complete the NEET syllabus? Should we prepare for NEET along with academics?
Well, NEET is not that tough as we think of it, you just need proper guidance and the right direction. Students should stay calm and plan for the studies from the very beginning right after clearing Class 10th boards. Students preparing for NEET along with academics will get ample time of two years to learn the basic concepts along with tips & tricks.
Explore colleges based on NEET
Aspirants must have proper knowledge of syllabus & subject to be studied. Biology, Chemistry & Physics are the three main subjects to be studied. Biology is all about cramming, while Physics is practicing numerical. Chemistry is cramming along with practice. Make a time table; give the required time to each subject. The most scoring subject is Biology, so assign the maximum time to Biology.
Don’t stick to a subject
Biology section holds 90 questions whereas Chemistry and Physics comprise 45-45 questions each. NEET includes 90 percent of questions from NCERT books so students should repeatedly go through NCERT books and make their own notes. Time to time revision must be done and candidates should give mock tests weekly to speed up and maintain accuracy. While preparing for NEET, candidates get bored while sticking to one particular subject. This decreases their interest and makes them depressed. So, avoid sticking to one particular subject for a long time.
Study Biology for one hour then take a 10 minutes break. Then pick up Chemistry for one hour and again take a break for 10 minutes then switch to Physics and repeat this cycle. In the break time, candidate should avoid indulging with their mobiles and stay away from social media, as it will distract their mind. Make good command of genetics, biological classification, ecosystem, and environmental issues.
In Physics, semiconductors, oscillations, waves, and thermodynamics are important units while in Chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry are important. After studying for the whole year, the most crucial time comes when it is the last month.
Eat healthy and avoid last-minute panic
Just before the exam, students need not panic. They have done a lot of hard work throughout the year. This month is all about maintaining good health and proper sleep so that they can concentrate on their studies to the fullest and revision could be done quickly. A candidate should not start any new topic but should practice old topics multiple times to make it more and more strong. Solve previous year question papers and daily test yourself.
Wake up, eat, study, sleep and repeat this cycle. On the last day, just look at the formulae and diagrams, do not go through the whole syllabus. Take a nice sleep of eight hours before the exam. Take a light meal, eat fruits and drink ample amounts of water and give your best.
