The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate courses is knocking at the door. A few months are left for the NEET 2020 exam. Even if it is not the last minute but still you should now start preparing with all your heart and soul together.
The expected breakup of the number of questions in all three subjects are as follows:
| Subject |
Total Questions |
Total Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Physics |
45 |
180 |
| Chemistry |
45 |
180 |
| Biology |
90 |
360 |
| Total |
180 |
720 |
The break-up of the number of questions helps to assign our time as per the need. Make sure you believe religiously that this is your last chance; there is no backup plan and you must crack it anyway because if you fail, you drop for one year. The last 15 days before the exam are critical and need special attention. So, use the last 15 days very meticulously.

Tips for studying in the last 15 days
Don't try to read any kind of new stuff. Don't read multiple books for the same topic as it may confuse you, read multiple times from one standard book. For biology, read 100's of times as only then it will be stored in your long-term memory. Try to solve the maximum number of questions and spend double the time in analysing them. Time management is one of the keys to cracking these exams.
Make short easily readable charts for physics and chemistry formulae, derivations, equations, statements in your own handwriting, as it will be very much helpful while revising just before the day of the exam.
Be careful while attempting papers in a suitable order of subjects such as PCB or CPB or BPC.
Top 10 quick tips before exam day
- Make sure to prepare as many possible diagrammatic, charts, and application-based questions for Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
- Understand the formulae for Physics and then memorise it, as it will be easy for you to remember for a long time.
- Take at least 4-5 mock tests before one week to the exam and spend double the time for analysing the exam, that too at the same exam slot time. You must attempt the paper without moving from the desk.
- Refer different question papers from exams such as AIEEE and JEE for Physics and Chemistry. Also, check question papers of other medical exams for the preparation of Biology. It would be helpful for you in a general aspect.
- Say no to new topics at the last moment and don't mug up too much of theory.
- Do not spend too much time on a single question if you are not able to solve it, better skip and start attempting other doable questions.
- Keep yourself motivated and calm during the exam. Any sort of unwanted pressure will bring down your concentration even if you know the answers.
- Take light food before or on the day of the exam but never skip the food as it will cause anxiety and tiredness during the exam.
- Most importantly take at least 7-8 hours of sleep, especially the night before the exam to make your brain work consistently during the exam without getting exhausted,
- Taking chocolate before an exam calms nerves and helps to attempt the question paper with confidence and a pre-planned strategy.
