On the other hand, many NEET aspirants would be taking this as yet another exam. So, this will be an added advantage for you to narrow down the competition.
Explore colleges based on NEET
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Medical/Dental colleges of India except for AIIMS & JIPMER. The fight among the 13-14 lakhs students is for 1 lakhs seats. You can now have an idea about the level of competition in the NEET.
With a vast syllabus, it seems quite impossible to crack the exam. But if you have a well-structured study plan, you can easily clear the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2020.
The five most important preparation tips for NEET 2020 are mentioned below:
- Make a practical timetable as per latest syllabus
- Practice regularly with good sources
- Mock series analysis
- Health
- Revision
So, how to make the most out of these five preparation tips? Read below:
1. Make a practical timetable as per latest syllabus
The most important thing is building strategies by planning your entire NEET preparation. You have to assign your days for particular subjects. Moreover, you have to decide when to give a mock. Apart from this, you have to work on your strengths and weakness. Most importantly, you should not alter your sleeping patterns and eating habits. This will help you stay motivated and energetic.
The NEET syllabus is too vast and hence proper scheduling of the subjects is a must. You could achieve it by the simple steps,
- Set small goals and achieve them.
- Designate equal time for each subject.
- Make some time for your hobbies and recreational activities.
Make sure you have a hardcopy of the syllabus and study only within the subject instead of studying irrelevant things.
Important topics for the preparation of NEET 2020 are:
- Physics: Optics, Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electronic Devices, Current Electricity
- Chemistry: General Organic Chemistry, Mole Concept, Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, Thermodynamics, Coordination Compound, Equilibrium
- Biology: Physiology of Plants and Animals, Morphology, Genetics & Evolution, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Human Physiology, Diversity of Living Organism
2. Practice regularly with good sources
Practice is the key to success and hence practicing 5 years question papers of NEET will really bring magical change in your exam. Make sure you sit for 180 minutes and attempt as if you are giving your NEET at the same time slot mentioned in your hall ticket. Start with NCERT books as nearly 70 percent of questions will be asked from it and solve all the questions from it.
3. Mock series analysis
Speed and accuracy are the keys, hence give at least 30 mocks including the latest 5 years NEET papers. Spend double the time in analysing mocks and keep a note of your strong and weak areas and work on it religiously. Don't rely on guessing in the exam as this will lead to negative marking
4.Health
One of the most important factors it to take 5-10 minutes to break after a continuous study of 50 minutes so that your brain absorbs more information. Do meditation and solve puzzles to keep the brain active. Take light food and also sip water every hour to keep yourself hydrated. Sleep at least for 7-8 hours even prior to the day of exam which most students skip and feel tired and sleepy during the exam.
5.Revision
Mnemonics would work like wonders. Use flowcharts for Biology. For Physics and Chemistry, write all the formulas, derivations, equations in one handbook for easy revision. Don't study new topics one week before the exam and wisely work on your mock test analysis and revise diagrams, equations, fundamentals, and formulas, etc.
