What is INI CET?
INI CET is the abbreviation for Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi conducts the entrance test for admission to PG courses such as Masters of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (MCh). INI CET scores are valid for admission to 19 AIIMS, JIPMER Puducherry, PGI Chandigarh, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, and SCTIMST, Trivandrum. All these institutes admit PG students on the basis of the marks obtained in the INI CET exam only. Earlier these institutes used to conduct separate exams for admission to PG courses. INI CET examination is conducted twice a year, January and July session. Exam for January session is held in November while for July session exam is held usually in May.

The first step of the INI CET 2025 November exam application form process is basic registration. Candidates have to submit basic candidate information as part of the registration. They will have to register themselves on the official website of AIIMS Delhi through a valid email ID and mobile number. Then they have to check the provisional status of their registration as well till the given deadline set by AIIMS. After the basic registration, candidates have to fill INI CET application form.

There is no official figure of total number of registrations for INI CET exam. Since 2020, number of candidates have been increasing for the exam. For 2024-25 session, around 60, 000 candidates appeared. As INI CET is one of the toughest exam in medical field, only few candidates qualify the exam and get desired college and course.

The admission process for various postgraduate courses for July session begins with exam registration. Once candidates complete both the basic and final registration process, they are issued admit cards.
