The authority released the NEET PG eligibility criteria 2026 online. These are the minimum conditions to apply for NEET PG. The eligibility criteria of NEET PG are mentioned below.
Education qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in MBBS from a recognised institute by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
Internship:
- Completed compulsory rotatory internship of 1 year on or before July 31, 2026.
Registration Certificate:
- Must have a valid registration certificate issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council (SMC).

A candidate can choose only one exam city while filling the application form of NEET PG 2026. Candidates must note the application form for NEET PG is released online and candidates have to submit the form there only.
There is always a correction window, if that has also passed then only a special request can be made. Unfortunately, after the correction window closes it is near impossible to change anything. This is the reason candidates are advised to fill details carefully so that there is minimum scope of error. NBE may or may not entertain the request the special request in case the deadline of correction window gets over.

Around 2 Lakh candidates appear for NEET PG every year. The number varies every year. Around 2.40 lakh candidates had appeared in NEET PG 2025 exam. A total of 2,28,540 candidates appeared for the NEET PG 2024 exam. In NEET PG 2023, around 2,06,541 candidates appeared for the exam. No. NEET-PG is mandatory for all MD admissions in India across all colleges, government, private, deemed, and central institutions. There is no alternative entrance exam or direct admission route for MD. Even foreign nationals of Indian origin need to qualify in the relevant entrance process.
