Is the IPMAT exam given online or offline?

What is the IPMAT exam duration and slot?

The IPMAT exam is held for two hours or 120 minutes. There is only one slot for the IPMAT exam. IPMAT exam also has a sectional time limit of 40 minutes per section. The candidates need to solve the question paper in 120 minutes and this means that the candidates will have approximately two minutes to solve each question. Candidates must take care of saving their answers at every step as the moment 40 minutes get over, the screen will automatically redirect to the next section. The test will end automatically once 120 minutes of the test are over. The IPMAT exam is conducted in the afternoon shift. Also, there is no provision for changing the exam slot. Candidates must make sure that they reach the IPMAT exam centre at least an hour before the commencement of the examination in order to complete the frisking formalities at the entry gate. The attempts at IPMAT Indore depend on the age criteria of the candidate. The eligibility criteria in terms of age for this entrance is that the candidate should be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026, (for IPMAT Indore 2026) if you belong to the General, OBC or EWS category. Each question in the IPMAT exam carries four marks. And for every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted. This means that if the candidate has four correct answers then 16 marks will be added to the IPMAT overall score. If the candidate marks more than one answer for a particular question, the answer will be considered incorrect. To avoid maximum marks deduction, candidates must attempt the easier question first and then move on to the more difficult ones in that particular section. If the candidate is unsure about a particular question, they can also skip the question. No marks will be deducted or awarded for unanswered questions.

Can a 17 year old give the IPMAT exam?

Yes, a 17 year old can give the IPMAT exam. The maximum age limit to be eligible to appear for the IPMAT Indore exam is 20 years as on July 31, of the given year. There is a relaxation in the age limit for the reserved category students. The candidates belonging to the General or NC-OBC category must be a maximum of 20 years and the students belonging to other reserved categories can be a maximum of 22 years in the admission year. However, IIM Rohtak's IPMAT exam has an additional section- Logical Reasoning. While IPM Aptitude Test is an easy exam, IIM Indore's IPMAT is moderately tough but to say which is better totally depends upon the college a candidate is targeting for the five-year integrated programme. What is IPMAT Exam?

IPMAT full form is Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test. IPMAT is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore). The national-level test is a gateway for admission at IIM Indore. IPMAT is a combination of a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree (under the dual-degree programme) offered by IIM Indore. The students will be provided with a Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) by IIM Indore at the end of the programme.

IPM Course 2026-31: Two Phases Explained

Confirm the exact location of the IPMAT test centre at least one day before the IPMAT exam day to ensure that transportation is available on time. If you are new to the city or the location of the centre, it is adivsable to visit the centre once.
Arrive early to the exam centre. Applicants must ensure that they arrive at least an hour before the exam begins.
Use the restroom before to the start of the test. Because you will not have time and may not be able to exit the exam hall throughout the examination period, use the restroom before entering the examination hall.
Do not bring cell phones or other electronic devices, such as Smartwatches, to the exam centre because the machines are not always available. Personal property will not be safeguarded outside of the exam centre, and IIM Indore or exam centre authorities will not be held liable for any loss of personal property. There are no stationary objects allowed, such as a pen, stylus, or paper. Rough pads and pens will be given to the applicants. Candidates should write their name and application number on their rough pads/sheets.

Q: What all items can I carry to the IPMAT exam centre?

Every candidate must carry a simple blue/black ball point pen and a two copies of their passport size photo to the IPMAT exam centre. They must not carry any stationary item other than the pen. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, IPMAT candidates are required to carry drinking water, hand sanitizer, face mask and gloves along with them. They have to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle. No other item will be allowed inside the exam venue. They also must not carry bags or valuables as there will be no arrangement for depositing while candidates appear for the exam. Candidates must also not carry notebooks or rough paper to the IPMAT exam centre. Any candidate found with an unauthorised item will be disqualified.

Q: Can I make corrections in the IPMAT application form after submission?

Yes, students who have completed IPMAT registration process and paid application fee can make correction. Only a few field of the form are editable and there is a limit on the number of corrections that can be made.

Q: How is the final IPMAT score calculated?

IPMAT score is calculated based on correct answers marked by students in IPMAT exam. Raw score of candidates is scaled to calculate composite score. Candidates who match IPMAT cutoff criteria are further called for Personal Interview round.

Minimum eligibility criteria for IPMAT is a score of at least 60 per cent in both Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent for General and NC-OBC categories. Candidate should have scored a minimum of 55% in case of SC, ST and PWD DA categories.
