SET 2026 exam was held on May 2 and May 10 in CBT mode. Results of both attempts were announced on May 20. Currently, Selection process through SET 2026 exam score is currently underway at score accepting colleges. SET BBA score is accepted by 13 SIU constituent institutes, which have already released the PI shortlist. The institutes are conducting WAT, PI and Studio Test, individually on separate dates. SET Eligibility and Application

SET aspirants have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed by the SIU campuses.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The aspirant must have cleared Class 12 or equivalent examinations in the relevant streams from a recognised board or university with a minimum 50% aggregate ( 45% for SC/ST category students).
  • Candidates in Class 12 or awaiting their Class 12 results are also eligible to apply but they will have to submit a passing certificate.
  • A candidate who has completed Class 12 or equivalent examination from any Foreign Board must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Domicile certificate issued by the competent authority for Nagpur reservation 
  • Class 12 mark sheet. Candidates appearing for the Class 12 exam have to submit a Bonafide certificate from the current institute along with a Class 10 mark sheet.

How to Apply for SET 2026 Exam?

  • Fill personal and communication details and confirm part 1 of SET application process with an OTP
  • Students will then receive an email and SMS containing their SET ID and Password

SET Selection Process 2026: Rounds and Weightage

SET counselling process is being conducted in colleges accepting SET exam scores. Students who appear for SET 2026 have to apply to SIU colleges during the application process. The counselling rounds of SET exam 2026 include a Written Ability Test and a Personal Interview. Students need to fill the registration form for the participating Symbiosis Institutes after the announcement of results and cut-off marks.

  • Selection of students: Students will be selected and called for admission process based on the scores obtained by them in the SET exam. Students will be intimidated about SET cutoff and they will be able to check if they met the cutoff criteria. 
  • Written Ability Test and Personal Interview: The WAT and PI schedule is announced by the individual institutes.

SET 2026 Exam Day Instruction

SET exam 2026 will be conducted in the CBT test mode in a single shift on each day. Students appearing for the exam must not only be prepared for the exam but also for the exam day. Exam day preparation is an important element of the SET preparation strategy. Mentioned below are some of the exam day instructions that the students  must follow:

  • Do not forget to carry the coloured printout of the SET admit card. Digital or soft copies of the admit cards will not be accepted.
  • Reach the exam centre by 10 AM before the commencement of the exam.
  • Do not carry electronic gadgets or articles which are prohibited in the exam hall.
  • Carry a valid ID proof issued by the Government of India such as an Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Voter ID or Passport.

SET Preparation Tips 2026

SET preparation 2026 is a blend of understanding basics and practice. Looking at trends, SET exam is an easy to moderate difficulty level BBA entrance exam. Symbiosis International University designs the SET mock tests in simulation to the actual exam. Infact, the previous year's question paper are considered to prepare the SET mock tests available on the official exam website. The questions in the SET mock tests are similar to that appear in the actual exam. Besides the questions, SET mock tests have a similar exam format, structure, and difficulty level of the exam, the mock test of SET exam aims to provide a real understanding of all features of the entrance exam.

Q:   How can I select the SET exam centre while filling the SET application form?
A: 

During the SET registration process, candidates need to select their SET exam centre. The candidates can choose upto three SET exam centres  for the SET exam centre allotment. Candidates should choose the test centres in the order of their preference, as they cannot be changed after the SET exam application form submission. Follow the steps mentioned below to know how to select the SET exam centre:

  • Register on the official website of SET.
  • Login to the candidate portal and fill the rest of the SET application form
  • Under the 'test centre' tab, choose the preferred test cities.
  • Candidates can select up to three test centres while filling out the SET exam application form 2024.
  • Candidates must select test centres in order of their preference, i.e. from first to third.
  • Fill up the entire SET application form, pay the application fee and finally and click 'Submit'.
Q:   Is there any marks relaxation for the reserved category student in the SET exam?
A: 
Yes, candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/PwD) will get a 5 per cent relaxation of the total criteria. They will be required to have scored 45% aggregate in Class 12. The eligibility criteria for the General and NC-OBC category is that they must have secured at least 50 per cent aggregate in Class 12th.

The SET mock test will be available online on the official website of SET. The mode of conduction will be the same as the actual SET exam. Candidates who have successfully registered for the SET exam and paid the application fee can take the mock test once they have downloaded the SET admit card. The mock test will be conducted to familiarize the students with the exam pattern and prepare the students with the time-based exam and help them tackle the time limit. Students must login at least ten minutes prior to take the mock exam. To login, students can use their User ID and Password which they received on the registered email ID.

To understand the exam pattern and SET question paper, SET mock test is conducted before the SET exam. The mock test will be available on the SET official website at least two days before the exam date. Candidates must know that it is mandatory for the registered candidates planning to appear for the SET exam to take the SET mock test. To know how to appear for the SET mock test follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Visit the official website of SET
  2. In the topmost bar, click on Mock Test button
  3. Candidates will be redirected to a new webpage
  4. Login using the email ID and password which the candidates used to register themselves for the SET exam
  5. After login, candidates will be redirected to a new window where they will have a set of instructions that they need to follow

No, after the SET exam is cleared, candidates had to go through for further selection procedure conducted by the participating institutes. The SET scores are accepted by the ten prestigious institutes of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Candidates need to meet the cutoff criteria of the participating institutes to take admissions. The admission process included Written Ability Test (What), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). Other factors such as academic record, work experience, etc. were also considered for admission to various institutes which accept SET scores. SET score is only the first parameter on which the candidates are shortlisted for admission. The institutes first shortlist the candidates for What, GD and PI on the basis of their SET scores, marks obtained in Class 10 and Class 12. For the final selection, the institutes take SET scores, performance in GD/PI, What, Class 10 and Class 12 marks, work experience, academic diversity and gender diversity into consideration.

Q:   How many questions do I have to answer in the SET exam?
A: 

SET exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates should however be cautious while answering the questions as accuracy is key a player in scoring well in the SET exam. Practicing previous years' papers can help in understanding the question pattern and managing time effectively.

Since there are no optional questions in the SET exam, all 60 MCQs are compulsory. 

Q:   What all items can I carry to the SET exam centre?
A: 

Every candidate must carry a blue/black ball point pen and a two copies of their passport size photo to the exam centre. They must not carry any stationary item other than the pen. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, SET candidates are required to carry drinking water, hand sanitizer, face mask and gloves along with them. Candidates have to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle. No other item will be allowed inside the exam venue. Candidates must not carry bags or valuables as there will be no arrangement for depositing while candidates appear for the exam. Candidates must also not carry notebooks or rough paper to the SET exam centre. Any candidate found with an unauthorised item will be disqualified.

Q:   How can I know my SET exam centre?
A: 

Candidates will know their allotted SET exam centre only from SET admit card. SIU allots SET centre to aspirantsin city of their first preference usually. So, candidates can at least be assured that they will get a test centre in the city they had chosen as first preference in the SET application form. 

Q:   How to avoid mistakes in the SET exam?
A: 
  1. Allocate time to each section and give priority to easier ones
  2. Do not avoid SET mock test. 
  3. Learn concepts, practice and revise to increase chances of scoring well. 
  4. Prepare for each section separately and prepare accordingly. Know the weaknesses and strengths and do a balanced preparation.
Q:   What should be my SET exam preparation strategy?
A: 

The SET BBA question paper is divided into four sections, I. e. General English Quantitative Aptitude Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. SET exam is conducted for one hour in CBT mode. Going through the past year question papers will give an idea about what to expect and an insight into the difficulty level. To prepare for the General English section, read and practice a lot of comprehension passages, and work on vocabulary and grammar. For the General Awareness section, read newspapers and magazines to know the Current Affairs, the latest trends, history, and geography. You can also refer to books for static GK. For SET preparation, go through at least the previous five years papers to get used to the paper pattern and understand the difficulty level. The next step would be to capitalise on strengths and work on weaknesses.
