Shiksha poll reveals the preference of the students who applied for the SET exam 2025. Read the article below to know more.

Shiksha conducted a recent poll, which revealed that 64% of aspirants who applied for the SET exam 2025 opted for SET Test 01 for this examination cycle. The poll was conducted to gain insights into the candidates' preferences for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) slot. The poll data shows that:

  • 64% have applied for SET Test 01

  • 17% have opted for SET Test 02

  • 18% plan to apply for SET 2026

The poll, hence, may reflect that the aspirants prefer an early attempt in the SET admission process. It also means that the aspirants view the first slot as a safer choice as it allows time for SET test 02 attempt if need and in a way gives them edge in terms of admission timelines.

Why Do Students Prefer SET Exam Test 01?

There may be various reasons which may contribute to the preference for SET test 01. Early SET registration and test attempt often aligns with the students' broader academic planning, especially for those who are targeting multiple BBA competitive exams such as IPMAT, CUET, etc. SET test 01 is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2025, hence allows the candidates to take the exam with minimal overlap from board exams and other BBA exams, including IPMAT Rohtak 2025. SET test 02 is scheduled to be held on May 11, 2025, and is relatively close to other top BBA exams, including IPMAT, CUET, UGAT, etc.

Additionally, institutions under Symbiosis International (Deemed University) have been known to release shortlists and begin the admission process soon after SET Test 01. Applying for the first slot gives aspirants a potential early-mover advantage.

The poll includes useful insights for current and future SET aspirants. With such a large chunk opting for Test 01, competition is likely to be stiff right from the start.
