AI Alliance Welcomes Seven Indian Members, Including IIT Madras, Infosys, Wadhwani AI, and Sarvam AI

The AI Alliance announced that it has expanded its membership by welcoming seven new organisations from India. The new members include Infosys, AI4Bharat (IIT Madras), IIT Jodhpur, KissanAI, People+AI, Sarvam AI, and Wadhwani AI. Established in 2023, the AI Alliance is a global community of technology developers, researchers, and industry leaders committed to advancing the development of safe and responsible artificial intelligence through open innovation.

These new additions join the founding members of the Alliance, which include IBM, Meta, and IIT Bombay, further strengthening the initiative’s global reach and collaborative efforts. Shivnath Thukral, Vice President and Head of Public Policy at Meta India, highlighted that the inclusion of Indian organizations in the AI Alliance reflects India's expanding influence on the global artificial intelligence landscape.

He emphasised that this move not only recognizes India's technological capabilities but also reinforces the country's role as a key player in shaping the future of responsible AI development worldwide. "By joining the AI Alliance, these organisations will be able to tap into global expertise and a collaborative network that will enable them to tackle the ethical and technical challenges of AI for India head-on, and in an open manner," said Amith Singhee, Director, IBM Research India and CTO IBM India and South Asia.
