IIT Mandi Student Life and Culture
IIT Mandi pays special attention to an active campus life. IIT Mandi Infrastructure
IIT Mandi has a state-of-the-art infrastructure with various modern amenities available on the campus. Some of the notable academic facilities are mentioned below:
- The Institute has a central library that accommodates more than 13,200 books and provides access to approximately 3,500 e-journals. It also has a vast collection of AV materials, such as CDs and DVDs. IIT Mandi's library operations are automated using the KOHA LMS.
- IIT Mandi has various labs with modern equipment for practical training and experiments in a number of streams, such as Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Design, Thermo-fluids, Physics, BioX, Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, etc.
- The Institute has a computational facility with 39 nodes based on Intel Xeon processors that have a total of 404 processor cores with a memory of 1.3 TB and 63 TB storage space. It also has four interactive virtual classrooms.
- Advanced Materials Research Centre (AMRC) is a multi-disciplinary hub for research facilities at IIT Mandi in the area of advanced materials dealing with the synthesis of new materials, processing, structural, microstructural, thermal, optical and electrical characterizations at various length scales.
- National Knowledge Network is an electronic classroom which is used to digitally connect all national universities, colleges and research organisations to create country-wide virtual classrooms.

Aspirants must meet the eligibility conditions as prescribed by the institute and qualifying exam conducting body. IIT Mandi shortlists students for MSc based on their scores in the IIT JAM entrance exam. Further, the shortlisted candidates are called for CCMN Counselling. At the time of counselling, seat allotment is carried out on the basis of exam score, seat intake, reservation policy, and cut-off.
IIT Mandi BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 2869 and, 15119 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The Last Round for Computer Science and Engineering is, 2869 for the General AI category.
Furthermore, according to IIT Mandi OBC AI category cutoff 2024, the Last Round closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering is 1236. In addition, the cutoff varied from 1236 to 5454 in the OBC category. For more information, click here.
IIT Mandi cut off 2023 was 7240 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering in IIT Mandi - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 12435 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
IIT Mandiadmissions 2024 are based on JEE Main 2024 ranks followed by JEE Advanced ranks and further followed by JoSAA Counselling. Candidates seeking admission to the BTech must appear for JEE Main and JEE Advanced in order to be eligible for further admission process.
