IIT Patna and University of Patras Collaborate for Global Educational Excellence

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna has virtually signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Patras, Greece. This landmark partnership seeks to promote strong educational, scientific, and research collaboration between the two distinguished institutions. The agreement is poised to open doors to innovative research projects and enriched academic opportunities, benefiting both students and faculty. The important areas of focus for this collaboration include:

  • Development of existing and new academic programs
  • Design and creation of joint postgraduate programs (joint degrees)
  • Collaboration between research groups and laboratories from both institutions
  • Joint research activities and knowledge transfer
  • Exchange programs for faculty and students to promote scientific research and teaching

The MoU was signed by Professor T.N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna, and Professor Christos Bouras, Rector of the University of Patras, in a ceremony attended by key faculty members & staff from both the organisations, including Professor A.K. Thakur, Dean of Academics and Administration; Professor Thanasis Triantafillou; Dr. Anup Keshari, Associate Dean of R&D; Dr. N.K. Tomar, Associate Dean of Resources; Dr. Subrat Hait, Dean of Postgraduate; Dr. Sushant Kumar, Dean of Undergraduate; Dr. Vaibhav Singhal; Dr. Arvind Jha, Head of IWD; Dr. Ram Krishna Bag, Dr. A.K. Verma, Head of the Civil Engineering Department; Kripa Shankar Singh and other distinguished guests.

On this momentous occasion, Professor T.N. Singh said, “This partnership represents the meeting of two ancient cultures and civilizations, fostering mutual support and complementarity. We are confident that this collaboration will lead to impactful research on the global stage.”
