UP CNET 2026, or UP Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) 2026 admission process for the next academic year will be held for the BSc nursing programme by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, UP, Lucknow (ABVMU). The entire admission-related events were held and managed online at abvmuup.edu.in.

Meanwhile, candidates can start preparing for the UP CNET 2026 nursing entrance exam, which will be held next year. UP CNET 2026 Admission Process

UP CNET 2026 admission process is mentioned below. Take a look at the complete process, which is essential to follow to seek admission to both the BSc nursing and the Post BSc nursing programme:

Fill out the UP CNET Application Form

Admission to the BSc Nursing Course will be done through the UP CNET 2026 entrance exam only. To appear for the exam, it is mandatory to fill out the UP CNET 2026 application form. The application form shall be submitted through the online mode only via the website www.abvmuup.edu.in. No Change in the application form will be possible after final submission. Incomplete applications will be rejected without any further intimation. If any applicant provides false information solely to appear in the examination for practice or other purposes, the applicant will be debarred from the Entrance Examination in the future.

Pay the UP CNET Application Fee

The examination fee, once deposited, will not be refunded. The fee will not be carried forward to a future examination. The candidate must note that mere deduction of the fee from the bank account is not proof of fee payment. The payment should be supported by a fee payment receipt.

Appear in the UP CNET Entrance Exam

The candidate will have to appear for the Examination at the allotted Centre. The Reporting Time is generally 9:00 AM (Two hours before the start of the Examination). A mandatory biometric capture will be done at the entry gate of the Test Centre. Entry to the examination centre will not be allowed after 10:00 AM.

UP CNET Result Announcement

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow, the official exam conducting body will release the UP CNET 2026 result online. A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Entrance Test. A combined merit list and category-wise merit list will be drawn.

Participate in UP CNET Counselling

The selection and allotment of college will be strictly done based on the BSc Nursing Course Common Entrance Test (CNET)-2026 merit list through counselling only. A candidate who qualifies the admission to the BSc Nursing course will have to deposit the prescribed admission fee on the date notified for that purpose by the University.

Join the UP CNET Course

Candidates would be required to join the course within the specified period.

UP CNET Reservation Policy

  • Reservation for disability (PH): 5% Horizontal reservation will be considered for disabled candidates with a disability of locomotor disability to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity, and other eligibility criteria concerning qualification will be the same as prescribed for Unreserved (UR) category candidates.
  • EWS quota of 10% may be admissible as per directives of the U.P. Government from time to time.
  • Reservation for Minority Educational Institutions will be as per the Govt. of UP norms/ directives.

Q:   Who can appear for the UP CNET exam?
A: 

Candidates with minimum age for admission is 17 years on or before 31st December 2025 can apply for the nursing entrance exam. It is mandatory to have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) taken together. English must be a mandatory subject in Class 12. 45 per cent aggregate marks in PCB for general category candidates, and 40% marks in PCB for reserved category candidates are mandatory.

  • The minimum age for admission is 17 years on or before 31st December 2026.

UP CNET 2026 Application Process

The UP CNET application process 2026 will begin in March 2026. Earlier, the UP CNET registration schedule will be shared soon and the registration process will be conducted in online mode for both the BSc Nursing Course and the Post Basic BSc Nursing Course on the official website of the exam conducting body, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, UP - www.abvmuup.edu.in 

It will be mandatory to register for the entrance exam online and submit the necessary documents as mentioned in the application form guidelines. After the stipulated date, no candidate will be allowed to make changes to the CNET application form. Please note that Primary Information submitted during registration cannot be changed or altered. The editing of limited field(s) can be done during the Form correction window.

Q:   When will the UP CNET 2026 counselling begin?
A: 

The CNET BSc nursing counselling for admission to the BSc nursing four-year programme will tentatively begin in June 2026. There will be three rounds of counselling to fill the vacant seats. Candidates will have to participate in the CNET counselling by paying a counselling registration fee. The CNET exam is expected to be held in May 2026, and the results of the BSc nursing exam will be declared almost a week later. Only those candidates who appeared for the entrance exam will be able to participate in the CNET counselling.

Q:   What is the UP CNET 2026 counselling registration fee?
A: 

Candidate has to pay INR 500/- as Counselling Registration Fee (NON-Refundable) and INR 5000/- as Counselling Security Fee through online mode. The CNET Counselling Security Fee amount is refundable after the entire counselling process concludes. In case, does not report to the allotted college for document verification and to complete the admission process within the specified date and time, then his/her counselling security fee will be forfeited.

Q:   When will the UP CNET 2026 counselling seat matrix release?
A: 

The UP CNET seat matrix for each round of counselling will be released stage by stage before each round of counselling. Candidates will be able to download the CNET seat matrix 2026 either from the official website or through this page of Shiksha.com. The CNET seat matrix will help candidates know the course and college availability as per the rank secured.

Q:   Is it mandatory to participate in ABVMU CNET counselling?
A: 

Yes, candidates who have qualified the ABVMU CNET 2025 exam must participate in the counselling process. The BSc nursing college will be allotted on the basis of the seats available in the targeted institute and the rank secured in the entrance exam. Those candidates who did not apply for the counselling will not get admission to the UP CNET nursing participating institutes this year. They will have to appear again for the exam in the upcoming academic session.
