UP CNET 2026 Counselling: The BSc nursing course counselling will be conducted as per the schedule released by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Uttar Pradesh. The University will soon release its examination calendar to notify the UP CNET 2026 dates officially. The candidates are suggested to follow the examination schedule to apply and prepare for the exam. 

The University will release the information bulletin to notify all the important information about the UP CNET 2026 exam. The candidates are suggested to read and understand all the details of eligibility, age limit and the counselling process. The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Uttar Pradesh, is the conducting conducting body for the UP CNET exam and will release the official website for UP CNET registration and application. The notification is expected in May 2026.

Q:   When will the UP CNET 2026 counselling seat matrix release?

The UP CNET 2026 qualifying criteria determines the candidates eligibility in following ways: 

  1. It showcases if an aspirant is eligible to participate in the couselling process
  2. Percentiles help normalize scores, especially if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts
  3. Different percentiles for categories (UR, OBC, SC/ST, PwD) are provided to determine the eligibility and reservation criteria for each category

Q:   When will the UP CNET 2026 counselling begin?
A: 

The CNET BSc nursing counselling for admission to the BSc nursing four-year programme will tentatively begin in June 2026. There will be three rounds of counselling to fill the vacant seats. Candidates will have to participate in the CNET counselling by paying a counselling registration fee. The CNET exam is expected to be held in May 2026, and the results of the BSc nursing exam will be declared almost a week later. Only those candidates who appeared for the entrance exam will be able to participate in the CNET counselling.

UP CNET Counselling Process 2026

The UP CNET Counselling process is expected to start in June 2026. There will be three round of Counselling conducted online only. The candidates can see below the 2025 Counselling process to get the details of Counselling process.

The CNET counselling started on June 2, 2025. Three rounds of counselling were held, including a fourth round, which was held as the seats remained vacant. The fourth round was an offline mop-up round, was held in Lucknow.

CNET Seat Matrix

Seat Matrix was released initially by the counselling conducting body on the official website, abvmuup.edu.in. The CNET seat matrix informs candidates about the colleges in which candidates can apply, against the seat availability in each institute. All these details are mentioned category-wise.

CNET 2025 Counselling Registration

Interested candidates were allowed to apply for the CNET 2025 counselling. A CNET counseling registration was floated on the official website. Qualifying candidates had to fill in the form and pay counselling application fee to be eligible to participate in the CNET counselling process.  

CNET Counselling Registration Fees 2025

A registration fee of INR 500/- as Counselling Registration Fee (NON-Refundable) and INR 5000/- as Counselling Security Fee had to be paid through online mode. The admitted candidates and those candidates who have not been allotted any seat were refunded the Counselling Security fee (INR 5000/-) through the bank information provided at the time of counselling registration. 

CNET Choice filling and option locking

As per the data provided in the CNET seat matrix, candidates had to participate in the choice filling. Candidates can choose as many colleges as they want to apply for the BSc nursing programme. After filling in the choices, it is mandatory to lock those options and wait for the result.

CNET Seat Allotment Result

As per the preference chosen and performance of the candidates in the exam, candidates were allotted a seat. The CNET seat allotment result was published on the admission portal. Candidates had to use their login details to find out the allotment result.

Document Verification and Fee Payment

The final step of the CNET counselling process is ‘Reporting at the allotted institute’. Candidates will have to present themselves within the given deadline once the institute is allotted to them. The admission seekers are also advised to carry the documents given below for the purpose of verification at the time of admission. A Seat Confirmation Fee of INR 40000/- (Rs. Forty thousand only) must be paid through online mode/challan method to ABVMU, UP, to confirm seat allotment. 

Documents Required for CNET Counselling 2025

The list of important documents required for document verification at the time of seeking admission to the nursing institute is mentioned below:

  1. 10th marksheet and DOB proof certificate
  2. 12th marksheet
  3. Passport-sized photographs
  4. Domicile Certificate
  5. Category certificate
  6. Medical Certificate (The candidates who are issued a provisional Seat allotment letter are required to submit the certificate of medical fitness issued by the Government Medical College/District Hospital/District CMO.)

Please note that Original certificates and other fees are to be submitted ONLY at the start of the academic session.

Reporting at the Institute

After the document verification, candidates had to pay the course fee to book the seat. In case the candidate fails to pay the course fee, then the allotted seat will be cancelled. Failing to report to the allotted college within the specified date and time will lead to forfeiture of the Counselling security fee (INR 5000/-)

The CNET seat conformation fee of INR 40,000/- needs to be paid if the candidates is ready to seek admission to the allotted institute. The seat confirmation fee is to be paid in online mode/challan method to ABVMU, UP. As per the information brochure, this amount will be transferred to the allotted college and adjusted against tuition fee after completion of all rounds of Counselling process.

A: 

Yes, candidates who have qualified the ABVMU CNET 2025 exam must participate in the counselling process. The BSc nursing college will be allotted on the basis of the seats available in the targeted institute and the rank secured in the entrance exam. Those candidates who did not apply for the counselling will not get admission to the UP CNET nursing participating institutes this year. They will have to appear again for the exam in the upcoming academic session.

Exam pattern of UP CNET 2026 will be released along with official brochure. As per existing exam pattern, exam will be held in offline mode. A total of 120 questions will be there in exam and students will be given 140 minutes to answer them.

The UP CNET exam is an offline exam that is conducted by ABVMU, UP, for admission to the BSc nursing course. It is a pen and paper-based exam wherein candidates will get an OMR sheet to answer the questions within the specified time limit.

The UP CNET post-basic nursing exam will comprise three sections. In the first section, topics such as Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Midwifery & Gynecological Nursing.

UP CNET valid photo ID proofs, such as Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, are allowed along with the admit card at the test centre for the purpose of verification. Carry one of these IDs to present at the entry gate.

The UP CNET admit card will be released on the official website. ABVMU will inform candidates about this and will not be sending the hall ticket via email or post. Candidate will have to visit the portal and provide login details to download the PDF document and keep it printout for the exam day.

The UP CNET test centre request for change will not be entertained by ABVMU, the official conducting body. Once allocated on the admit card, the examination centre address will not be altered. Pick and choose the test city carefully at the time of filling the application form.
