UGC NET Exam Analysis 2025: The National Testing Agency is conducting the December session exam. It was started on December 31. January 7 is the last day of an exam. It is conducted in two shifts. First shift is from 9 am to 12 pm and second from 3 pm to 6 pm.

In January 7, shift 1 is being conducted for Economics (incl. allied fields), Management, Public Administration, Population Studies, Linguistics, Buddhist/Jaina/Gandhian/Peace Studies, Pali, Ayurveda Biology. Where as Shift 2 is being held for Environmental Sciences, Home Science, Performing Arts (Dance/Drama/Theatre), Music, Electronic Science, Labour Welfare/HRM, Marathi, Physical Education. After the completion of each shift, we will provide the UGC NET 2025 exam analysis based on the student reactions including the overall difficulty level, questions asked, expected cutoff, etc. The last NTA UGC NET exam is on January 7, 2026.

UGC NET Exam Analysis 2025 (Dec Session)

The December sesison UGC NET exam started on December 31. The last exam is on January 7. It is conducted in two shifts. After the conclusion of both Shifts, exam analysis will be provided here. The detailed exam analysis based on the student responses is provided below subject-wise. Paper 1 is common and Paper 2 is subject specific in the examination.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2025

NTA UGC NET Exam Pattern is prescribed by the National Testing Agency. The exam pattern was released along with the December notification. The exam consists of two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The time duration of the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes). Both papers contain objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). A total of 150 questions are asked in the exam combining paper 1 and paper 2. The exam does not have a negative marking scheme. Candidates are awarded for correct answers but no mark deductions are made for incorrect answers.

Paper 1 was Moderate. Some of the students felt easy to moderate. Previous Year Questions asked.

Paper 2 (Sociology): Overall difficulty level was Moderate. Research asked more in Sociology. As per students, practicing previous years questions helped them; topics like social change and globalisation had predictable questions, questions based on sociological thinkers were slightly tricky, and questions were also from contemporary issues and focused on theoretical aspects. Maximum weightage topics are: Communalism, Social Movements of India, State Politics and Development, Urbanism & Political Processes in India.
