NTA UGC NET December 2025: The National Testing Agency has released the NTA UGC NET provisional answer key 2025 for the December session on January 14. The UGC NET provisional answer key has been released along with the response sheet and question papers. The exam was held from December 31 to January 7, 2026. The answer key objection window has been opened from January 14 to January 17. The representations will be reviewed by the subject experts and based on it the final answer key and UGC NET result will be declared. The date-wise UGC NET analysis for the December session is also provided below based on the feedback of the students.
The notification PDF for the December session was released on October 7. Along with the notification, the application form also released. The application dates were October 7 to November 7. Yes. The NTA released the UGC NET 2025 December session admit card for all exam dates. Candidates can download their UGC NET 2025 admit card by using their login credentials. The details mentioned on the UGC NET admit card are the name of the candidate, roll number, application number, exam date and time, exam centre address, etc.
Candidates can check the UGC NET syllabus at ugcnetonline.in. It will be released along with the notification. The Paper 1 includes topics on teaching aptitude, research, development, environment, and more. Paper 2 is subject-specific. A thorough understanding of the NTA NET syllabus is important for all the candidates aiming to clear the exam. It is important to appear for both papers to qualify for the NET exam.
UGC NET 2025 Provisional Answer Key OUT
The authority has released the UGC NET provisional answer key for the Dec session exams along with the question paper with recorded responses on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in on January 14, 2026. The NTA also invites objections against the UGC NET provisional answer key if the candidates find any discrepancy in the answer key. After the scrutiny by the expert panel of the objections, the final answer key and result will be released.
As per the official notice, the candidates who are not satisfied with the provisional answer key(s), may challenge the same by paying a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200 per question challenged. The last date for fee payment is January 17, 2026. The payment of the processing fee may be made through (through Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI Payment Modes till 17th January 2026 (upto 11:50 p.m.). No challenge will be entertained without receipt of the processing fee. The Challenges will not be accepted through any other mode.
Also, challenges made by the candidates will be verified by the panel of subject experts. If the challenge of any candidate is found correct, the Answer Key will be revised and applied in the response of all the candidates accordingly. Based on the revised Final Answer Key, the result will be prepared and declared. No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her challenge. The key finalized by the experts after the challenge will be final.

UGC NET 2025 Result
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the Dec session result on the official website after a few days of the conduction of an exam. Candidates will e able to access the UGC NET result via candidates' login on the official website. The result comprises the individual scores secured by the candidate. Candidates can check below the steps to download the scorecard/result:

The UGC NET 2025 expected cutoff may fall within the range of 216 to 160 for all subjects and categories. What Are The Challenges Candidates Faced While Submitting The UGC NET Application?
Candidates face challenges while submitting the form every year. Some of the challenges faced by the candidates are mentioned below so that they can check them accordingly.
Uploading Photograph & Signature: Candidates faces problems while uploading their photographs and signatures after multiple attempts.
OTP problem: It also happens that after mentioning the personal details, candidates don't get the OTP and automated registration number.
Automatic Change in the Application Form After Submission: The particulars filled in by the candidates are automatically changed after the submission of the application form.
Multiple Payments: The candidates are facing while making payments for the NTA NET application.

Check the speed of the internet: It is advised that candidates should use fast internet or shall wait for a few days to fill out the application form because lakhs of candidates fill the application form at once and so server crash problem occurred.
Change in Application Particulars: It is also advised to the candidates to check the application form thoroughly before submitting the application form. If the application form is submitted by the candidate, then he or she has to wait for the correction window to make corrections if required to the application form.
Photograph & Signature: Candidates should check the dimensions and the size of the photograph and signature before uploading it because the platform accepts the photograph and signature in a given range of sizes and formats. If the size and format are correct, then the candidates are advised to wait for some time, as it will be a server error due to the slow speed of the Internet or a server crash due to high traffic.
Multiple Payment: Candidates are also advised to make several payments for the NTA UGC NET application form. After making the payment, the candidate should keep the receipt of the payment and wait for 72 hours. If the payment status is not successful within the time limit, then mail the problem to the NTA UGC NET help desk, explaining the problem in brief, and attach the payment receipt from your bank in the mail.
Eligibility Criteria
It is important for the candidates to check their NTA NET eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. Those candidates who will not fulfill the this criteria for the exam will not be able to sit in the exam. The eligibility criteria is categorised into three parts: (i) Nationality; (ii) Educational Eligibility; (iii) Age limit. Check in detail about it:
Nationality
Nationality plays a crucial role as an eligibility criterion exam because only Indian citizens can take part in the exam. Citizens from other countries can not apply for the exam. Also, candidates who are residing in other countries but are citizens of India can apply for the exam. It is important to prove Indian citizenship for the candidates who are residing in other countries with proper documentation.

UGC NET 2025 Educational criteria

Candidates should have completed their post-graduation from a UGC-recognised college/university. Minimum marks for General Category is 55% and for reserved categories including SC/ST/OBC/PwD is 50% marks.
A relaxation of five per cent in educational qualification is given to reserved category candidates
Candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) before June 1, 2002, are exempted from taking the exam

UGC NET 2025 Age Limit As Of 1/06/2025
In the exam, there is no upper age limit to appear for the professorship exam, whereas for the post of JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), the candidates must be below or equal to 30 years of age. Also, the candidate must fulfill the other criteria as well to appear for the exam. The details of the age limit criteria are provided below:
- Candidates should not be more than 30 years of age to be eligible for NET JRF as of June 1, 2025
- There is no age restriction to applying for the post of Assistant Professor
- A relaxation of five years in age criteria is given to reserved category candidates
What Is The UGC NET 2025 Reservation Policy?
As per the Government of India rule, the reservation policy is applicable to the UGC NTA NET exam. According to this only, the seats are reserved in the central universities and institutes that are deemed to be universities. The reservation of seats is provided below:

Exam Pattern
The NTA UGC NET exam has two papers, namely Paper 1 and Paper 2. The duration of the exam is three hours. Both papers contain objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). UGC NET 2025 Syllabus
The syllabus is prescribed by the UGC. It is divided into Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is a general paper that is the same or equivalent for all the candidates who are preparing for the exam. No, UGC-NET is not a mandatory entrance exam for FPM admissions at Delhi School of Business. Other than UGC-NET, candidates can appear for any one of CAT, MAT, GMAT or CMAT to qualify for Delhi School of Business FPM admissions.

No, both are not same. CUET PG is conducted for admission to postgraduate courses offered at central universities, state universities and other participating institutes. While UGC NET is an eligibility test for junior research fellow (JRF), assistant professorship and PhD admission.

The NTA released the UGC NETadmit card 2025 for the December session exam. It was released on the official portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The admit card is a mandatory document thata needs to be carried at the examination centre by the candidate.

The UGC NET City Intimation Slip or City Slip is a document released by the NTA to inform candidates about the city where the exam center is located. Basically, it is not the admit card but provides advance information to help candidates make travel arrangements in advance.
