Staff Selection Commission Integrates AI for Leak-Proof and Structured Question Papers

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) uses AI technology to create leak-proof, well-structured exam papers by selecting questions from a large pre-approved question bank.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has begun using an AI-powered content authoring tool developed by Cubastion Consulting for its departmental competitive exams across various central government posts. This advanced AI system selects questions from a vast pre-approved question bank, ensuring that each exam paper is well-structured, unique, and free from duplication or repetition. By generating the paper dynamically in real time just before the exam, the technology not only saves valuable time but also greatly enhances the quality and integrity of the examination process.
Advanced Encryption and Digital Signatures Protect SSC Exam Content
A significant change is that SSC exam papers are now released only 15 minutes before the start of the examination. Until that moment, neither users nor officials have access to the SSC questions or knowledge of which ones will appear on the paper. Access is strictly controlled through digital verification, with the exam papers secured by advanced encryption and protected by digital signatures. The papers can only be decrypted using the correct digital signature, ensuring a high level of security.
The system is designed around a zero-trust model, a leading cybersecurity framework that assumes no user or system is inherently trusted. As a result, every access attempt undergoes strict verification, providing an additional layer of security. The first examination leveraging this technology was successfully conducted on June 15.
"We are proud to have enabled the first-ever examination to be conducted through this advanced infrastructure. Itโs a transformational moment, not just for SSC but for the broader examination ecosystem in India, said S Gopalakrishnan, Chairman SSC.
Commenting on this milestone, Cubastion CEO Ravi Kumar said, โThis is a landmark step in examination security. For the first time, the exam paper is being dynamically created in real time, ensuring not just agility but a structure that is secure by design."
Deepanshu Sharma, Project Lead, Cubastion Consulting, said, "What was once a fragmented and manual process is now a unified, machine-driven ecosystem, capable of scaling across the country. This isnโt just an upgradeโitโs the future of secure examination delivery."
