RRB Group D Eligibility 2025: Are you planning to apply for RRB Group D exam in the future? RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria

RRB Group D Eligibility 2025: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) released an important notice related to RRB Group D 2025 eligibility. According to the notice, CCAAs of any trade trained in Railway Establishments can apply. RRB Group D eligibility was revised in terms of age limit and educational qualification. According to the Ministry of Railways, the minimum educational qualification for RRB Group D 2025 exam for all posts will be 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. ITI is not mandatory for the exam. According to RRB Group D eligibility, the age limit prescribed for the exam is 18 to 36 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Candidates must check the RRB Group D eligibility before applying for the RRB Group D 2025 exam. 

RRB Group D 2025 notification was released to fill up a total of 32438 vacancies. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can only fill the RRB Group D application form online

RRB Group D Eligibility 2025 (New Order)

The educational qualification prescribed for RRB Group D exam for all posts is 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. All candidates who have completed Class 10/ITI/NAC are eligible for RRB Group D 2025 exam.

RRB Group D Eligibility (Previous Order)

In 2019-23, Railway Recruitment Boards made modifications to RRB Group D eligibility. According to the revised RRB eligibility criteria, the minimum education qualification for candidates applying to the technical departments that is Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal & Telecom departments) and catering wing of Railways will be Class 10 pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by National Council for Vocational Training or Class 10 pass plus ITI. The revised eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification is applicable for all future recruitments notified after June 15, 2019 in Level-1 posts. Earlier, NAC or ITI was not mandatory to apply for RRB Group D exam. RRB Group D age limit is 18 to 33 years

RRB Group D Nationality 2025

RRB Group D Level-1 aspirants need to fulfil the eligibility criteria of nationality or citizenship. A candidates who is:

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee permanently settled in India from and before January 1, 1962.
  5. A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) presents a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India to the recruiting body.

RRB Group D Qualification 2025

RRBs/RRCs have prescribed minimum educational qualification for Railway Group D exam. The educational qualification has been revised for candidates applying to the exam. The previous and revised educational qualification is given below.

RRB Group D age limit calculated as on 01.01.2025 is 18 to 36 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to SC/ST/OBC and other eligible categories as per government rule. The category-wise age limit for RRB/RRC Group D exam is given below.

Candidates who are serving Group 'C' and Erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes in Railways who have put in a minimum of 3 years’ service (continuous or in broken spells) of SC/ST Category

Candidates who are working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes

Up to the length of service rendered (or) 5 Years, whichever is lower.

Women candidates, who are widowed, divorced or judicially separated from their husband but not remarried of UR Category

35 years of age

Women candidates, who are widowed, divorced or judicially separated from husband but not remarried of OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) Category

Course Completed Act Apprentices applying for the posts for which minimum qualification is ITI/Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.

Shall be relaxed to the extent of Apprentice Training undergone by them under the Apprentice Act 1961.

Candidates who are Course Completed Act Apprentice under the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years of UR Category

35 years of age

Candidates who are Course Completed Act Apprentice under the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years of OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) Category

RRB Group D Eligibility 2025 for CCAAs

According to RRB Group D eligibility, CCAAs who have done training in Railway Establishments and have National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT only are eligible. CCAAs having certificates issued by the Board/ Institute/Organization other than NCVT are not eligible. CCAAs trained in Railway Establishments, who have completed their training and possess National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT should carefully fill the duration of training, certificate details, and marks in the online application. The candidates who have appeared in the NCVT examinations before the last date of online application result for which are not declared should fill date of the last examination in the online application.

RRB Group D Medical Standards

Candidates shortlisted for document verification are required to pass the medical fitness test to check whether they are fit for the job role or not. The medical fitness test is conducted by the railway administration. In 2019-23,  RRB Group D medical standards were revised. The medical standards for RRB/RRC Group D Level-1 post are given below.

Distant vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses (No fogging test)
Near vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass tests for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc

Distant vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D)
Near vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and must pass the test for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, myopic vision, etc. 

B-1 

Distant vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D)
Near vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass the test for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc.
