TS TET Eligibility Criteria 2025: The Department of Education, Government of Telangana, displays the detailed TSTET eligibility conditions in the official notification. Candidates preparing for the TSTET 2025 exam should comply with the latest eligibility norms to appear for the exam. Candidates are also advised to go through the eligibility criteria before such as TS TET age limit and educational qualification, to fill out the application form. The basic minimum eligibility for TS TET Paper 1 is that candidates should be Class 12/ Intermediate / Senior Secondary pass or its equivalent with at least 50% marks with a Diploma in Elementary Education / B.El.Ed / Diploma in Education (Special Education). On the other hand, as per the TS TET Paper 2 eligibility, candidates should be graduates with at least 50% marks with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education).
The Telangana State Teachers Eligibility Test (TS TET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8 in Telangana State. The TS TET examination is conducted for two levels- Paper 1 and Paper 2. TSTET Paper 1 is for Primary Teachers who want to teach Classes 1 to 5, and TSTET Paper 2 is for Secondary Teachers who want to teach Classes 6 to 8.
The TS TET qualifying marks for SC and ST categories are 40 per cent. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category need to obtain more than 60 marks out of total 150 to clear the exam and get eligible for the TS TET certificate. These qualifying marks or passing marks have been fixed by the Government of Telangana.

The eligibility criteria consist of minimum educational qualification, nationality & age limit. Before applying for the TS TET 2025 exam, candidates should ensure that they possess the prescribed TSTET eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualifications and age limit. The TS TET eligibility differs for Paper 1 and Paper 2, as shared below:
TSTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Paper 1
Candidates applying for TSTET Paper 1 should fulfil either of the conditions mentioned below to meet the TS TET eligibility criteria.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
- Senior Secondary with at least 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for SC/ ST/OBC/ Differently-abled candidates) and pass in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to DElEd/ DEd course prior to the issue of guidelines
OR
- Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Bachelor of Education (Special Education)
TSTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Paper 2
Candidates applying for Paper 2 should fulfil either of the criteria mentioned below in order to meet the TS TET eligibility criteria.
- BA/BSc/BCom with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Bachelor of Education (BEd Special Education)
OR
- BA/BSc/BCom with at least 50 per cent marks (40 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Bachelor of Education (BEd Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to BEd prior to the issue of guidelines
OR
- 4-year BAEd/ BScEd with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates)
OR
- For Language Teachers, Graduation with the language concerned as one of the optional subjects OR Bachelor of oriental language OR Graduation in literature OR Post Graduation in Language concerned and Language Pandit Training Certificate/ BEd with language concerned as one of the Methodologies
OR
- BE/ BTech with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (BEd) or BEd (Special Education)

TSTET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Age Limit
The Department of Education, Government of Telangana has not released any TSTET 2025 Age Limit for TSTET 2025 exam. However, candidates should be 18 years old to apply for the TSTET 2025 exam.
TSTET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Other Conditions

- There is no age limit to apply for the TSTET 2025 exam
- Candidates appearing for the final year of BEd exams/Diploma in Elementary Education are also eligible to apply for TSTET 2025
- A diploma/degree course of a candidate in teacher education should be recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). However, for candidates possessing a diploma in education (special education) and BEd (special education), the course should be recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only
- Intermediate qualification of the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) of Telangana or its equivalent as recognized by BIE Telangana State only will be considered
- Number of attempts: There is no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can take to acquire a TSTET certificate. The official website states, “A person who has qualified in the TET examination may also appear again to improve his/her score”

Q. Who can apply for the TSTET exam?
A. Any candidate with a B.Com/ BA/ B.Sc degree with a minimum of 50% in aggregate can apply for the TSTET exam. For OBC/PwD/SC/ST candidates, an aggregate of 45 per cent marks is the educational requirement. Also, the candidate must have an Education specializing in Special Education/ Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.).
