Q:   What is difference between Bsc horticulture & B.Tech horticulture?
A:
Hi Pavithra, Horticulture is the branch of agriculture that deals with the art, science, technology, and business of plant cultivation. It includes the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, herbs, sprouts, mushrooms, algae, flowers, seaweeds and non-food crops such as grass and ornamental trees and plants. Candidates who have passed 10+2 in Science stream (class 12th) with physics, chemistry and maths/biology/agriculture as the subjects can opt for Bachelors degree in Horticulture as a separate discipline or as a subject of B.Sc Agriculture Science. Difference Between BTech and BSc:- B.Tech. is a professional Bachelors’ degree program whereas B.Sc. is only an academic Science graduation course. B Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology whereas B.Sc. is Bachelor of Science. Since B Tech is an engineering graduation, B Tech students have to study the vast techniques involved in a particular subject. They have to study about the processes involved in designing new instruments, techniques or programs, which comes under their field of study. On the contrary, B.Sc. graduates may have to study the working principles about an instrument or a process that is included in their curriculum. Duration of B Tech and B.Sc. programs:- Although both these are graduation programs, B Tech is a four year duration course. Aspirants can complete the B.Sc. programs within three years. Engineering colleges offer the B Tech programs whereas aspirants have to pursue the B.Sc. programs from Science and Arts colleges. Key differentiators:- Even if B Tech and B.Sc. graduates have taken same specializations, B Tech students may have in depth knowledge about the construction, designing and other internal mechanisms concerned with a subject. However, B.Sc. students may only know about the theoretical and practical applications of the instruments, equipments or processes in their field of study. Common Specializations in B Tech and B.Sc:- Information Technology Computer Science Electrical Electronics Biotechnology Career opportunities for the B Tech and B.Sc. programs As B Tech is a high-level degree, when comparing with B.Sc., engineering graduates can expect better employment opportunities in the industry. Hope this helps. Click on the thumbs up or mark it as the best, if you found this useful. Wish you Luck!
