Commonly asked questions
Q:   I have a rank of 12000 in JEE Advanced, and I am from Delhi, which branch can I get in IIT Bombay?
A:

First of all, IIT Bombay doesn't offer BTech courses based on Home State quota. Candidates with All India quota from any state will be eligible for the counselling rounds. So, if you belong to Delhi, then you are equally eligible than that of a candidates belonging to Bombay. Further, IIT Bombay cutoff 2023 has been released for various All India quotas including General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PWD categories. Moreover, as we all know that IIT Bombay is one of top IITs of India. So, getting a seat with 12000 is a hard nut to crack as the cutoff in itself closing at 9064 in the last-round for the General AI category.

Q:   I got 11000 rank in JEE Advanced. How much rank is required to take admission in IIT Bombay?
A:

IIT Bombay accepts JEE Advanced scores. If we talk about the IIT Bombay 2023 cutoff, candidates had witnessed lenient cutoffs as compared to IIT Bombay JEE Advanced cutoff 2022. However, 11000 rank is quite more than the official cutoff released by the institute. You should at least have a rank of 9064 under General AI category. Further, candidates seeking admission under OBC AI category must aim a rank below 4004.

Q:   How much rank is required under OBC AI category to take admission at IIT Bombay in 2023?
A:

Hello folks!

Getting IIT Bombay is a dream of many. It offers BTech and B.S specialisations for various All India quotas. Taking into consideration the OBC AI category cutoff 2023, the rank needed between 58 and 4004. Wherein, the most and least competitive courses were BTech in Computer Science and Engineering and B.S. in Chemistry, respectively.

Q:   Was JEE Advanced 2024 tougher than JEE Advanced 2023? What about the cutoff trends?
A:

As per the IIT Bombay year-wise cutoff trends, a significant increase in the difficulty level can be seen in JEE Advanced exam 2024 as compare to JEE Advanced 2023. This is because, in 2024, the level of the paper was near about easy to moderate which had decreased the cutoffs drastically. Moreover, it is expected that the competition for top BTech courses will be seemingly increase to get coveted seat in an IIT.

IIT Bombay Cutoff 2023 For General All India Female Category

For the General AII India Female category candidates, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing rank was 291 for the BTech in Computer Science and Engineering course. Compared to the General category candidates, the competition was comparatively less for the Female candidates as the cutoff ranks were higher than General category students for CSE.
