IIT Roorkee offers BTech specialisations on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. The cutoff depends on a few factors such as category and gender. IIT Roorkee offers a four-year BTech programme across 11 specialisations along with a five-year integrated BTech + MTech programmes across two specialisations. The BTech course is the flagship programme of IIT Roorkee. The selection of candidates for the IIT Roorkee BTech programme is based on their JEE Advanced score. To be eligible for the same, aspirants must have completed their Class 12 with a valid score.

The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats. In order to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT Roorkee, students are required to apply via JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced. The process of applying for JEE Mains 2025 consists of three steps: registration, form filling, and document upload, followed by payment of application fees.

For CSE admission at IIT Roorkee, the JEE Advanced Round 4 closing rank was 555 for the students belonging to the OBC category under the AI quota. For the same specialisation and round, the closing rank was 481 in 2024, whereas in 2023, the cutoff rank stood at 405. Candidates seeking admission to BTech in CSE must target to secure a JEE Advanced rank of up to 550 or below. Please note that the cutoff ranks vary for different rounds, specialisations, and categories. 

For students belonging to the General AI quota, most of the BTech branches remained open till the last round for admission at IIT Roorkee. The cutoffs of different branches vary across rounds and categories. Some of the BTech branches, such as CSE, ECE, Civil, and Mechanical, etc., reflected a rise in the last round, closing ranks as compared to initial rounds, indicating IIT Roorkee seats remained vacant till the last round for BTech admission. Whether the branch will remain open till the last round or not depends on the availability of seats allocated for each category. IIT Roorkee BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 5 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 481 and, 7286 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The Last Round for Computer Science and Engineering is 481 for the General AI category.

Once all the seats have been allocated via JoSAA counseling, students would be required to report at the allocated institute for verification of documents. These documents include:

• JEE (Advanced) – Seat allotment letter / Offer letter of JEE Advanced (issued by the organizing Chairman JEE Advanced)
• Mark sheets & Certificates of 10 and 12 Classes or its equivalent
• Category Certificate (if applicable)
• Transfer/Migration and Character Certificate (original)
• Undertaking by the parent/guardian and student for continuation of study at IIT Roorkee
• Health Certificate
• Anti-Ragging Affidavit (on INR10 Non-Judiciary Stamp Paper) by the student
• Anti-Ragging Affidavit (on INR 10 Non-Judiciary Stamp Paper) by the Parents/Guardians
• Receipt/proof for the payment made by candidates at the time of seat allotment for adjustment
• Two colored passport-size photographs

In order to get into BSc at IIT Roorkee candidate must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75%. Further, the candidate is required to qualify JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. IIT Roorkee admits students based on merit in JEE Main+JEE Advanced. Once the JEE Advanced results are out, students must register at the JoSAA counselling portal. Further counselling and seat allocation is done through this particular portal.

Upon allocation of seat, candidates must pay partial fees on the JoSAA portal itself. After that, students will be required to report to the allocated institute in the stipulated time frame. Students will be successfully admitted upon payment of the remaining fees.
