IIT Roorkee offers a four-year BTech programme across 11 specialisations along with a five-year integrated BTech + MTech programmes across two specialisations. The BTech course is the flagship programme of IIT Roorkee. The selection of candidates for the IIT Roorkee BTech programme is based on their JEE Advanced score. To be eligible for the same, aspirants must have completed their Class 12 with a valid score.

The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats. In order to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT Roorkee, students are required to apply via JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced. The process of applying for JEE Mains 2025 consists of three steps: registration, form filling, and document upload, followed by payment of application fees.

By paying a total tuition fee amount of INR 8 lakh, students have the opportunity to score salary packages up to INR 27.94 LPA (the highest salary package during 2023 placements). Further, the average and median package offered during IIT Roorkee placement process of 2023 stood at INR 18.34 LPA and INR 18.09 LPA. In terms of ROI, the deal looks decent. In addition to this, the college ranks under the top 10 best institutes in the country for Engineering by NIRF 2022. Hence, BTech from IIT Roorkee is a good idea.

For 2022, cut off was 413 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 1463 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

For CSE admission at IIT Roorkee, the JEE Advanced Round 4 closing rank was 555 for the students belonging to the OBC category under the AI quota. Candidates seeking admission to BTech in CSE must target to secure a JEE Advanced rank of up to 550 or below. DOMS IIT Roorkee accepts CAT score for admission to MBA programme. Hence, applicants cannot get a seat in MBA without CAT. Besides, the selection for PhD course is based on UGC NET, CSIR NET, GATE, etc. Aspirants applying for PhD do not require a CAT score. So, the requirement will depend on the course opted by the candidates.

DOMS IIT Roorkee offers postgraduate and PhD programmes in Management. The institute offers a two-year residential MBA programme in the specialisations including Marketing, Finance, Information Systems, Operations, Human Resource Management, etc.  Candidates scoring above the minimum qualifying CAT cutoff percentile are considered for subsequent selection stages for admission to its flagship MBA programme.
