Yes, NIT Rourkela offers equal opportunity to students to apply for the scholarships. Some of the scholarships provided by the university are PMS (Post-Matric Scholarships) (for SC-ST students) given by Orissa Government, Indian Oil Scholarships, and others. NIT is a government university hence the fee is not very high. Even if the students does not find the fee a little high, they can apply for the scholarships provided by the university. 

The highest rank to get into NIT Rourkela was 13474 for the OBC AI category in the first round. This cutoff was for the Integrated B.Sc. + M.Sc. in Life Science course. If you want admission to the BTech course, then the highest rank was 12025 for the BTech in Food Process Engineering course. 

For the OBC HS category, the highest round 1 rank was 21229 for the Integrated BSc + MSc in Life Science course. In the BTech course branch, the highest rank was for the BTech in Ceramic Engineering + MTech in Industrial Ceramic Engineering course, with the cutoff being 19146.

Yes, NIT Rourkela accepts admissions under the Bihar Student Credit Card (BSCCS) for various courses. Bihar Student Credit Card System provides financial aid to students to complete higher education. To be eligible for BSCC, applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar. The student should have pass Class 10/ Class 12 in Bihar and annual family income of the student must be less than INR 50,000.

 Yes, the institute offers five-year BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) courses in four specialisations. NIT Rourkela offers BTech course to students at the UG level. It is offered for 4 years in several specialisations. To be eligible for BTech at NIT Rourkela Odisha, candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the college. Candidates must be Class 12 passed with 75% aggregate.

Cut offs are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 25048 and 59818. The NIT Rourkela GATE CCMT cutoff 2025 is determined based on a few key factors:

1. Total number of seats available: The cutoff primarily depends on the total number of seats available in medical colleges across the country for that particular year.

In 2024, the closing rank for BTech in Biotechnology was 29496 which is very close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota.
