The merit list for admission to B.Tech courses in 2021-22 will be drawn with 50-50 weightage to class 12 and CET marks.
The admission to engineering courses for the academic year 2021-22 will be based on equal weightage to class 12 and GUJCET 2021 marks. A merit list with equal weightage to GUJCET and class 12 marks will be made, which will serve the basis of admission to professional degree courses which includes engineering and pharmacy.
The 11-member committee which was given the task to decide the new admission criteria for engineering and pharmacy courses for the academic session 2021-22 has announced that the merit list for admission will be formulated with 50-50 weighatge to class 12 and GUJCET marks. The same admission criteria will also be followed for the academic session 2022-23.

Until 2020, the merit list for admission was drawn with 60% weightage to class 12 marks and 40% weightage to GUJCET marks. Four members of the committee suggested to give 100% weightage to GUJCET marks but this recommendation was not considered a viable option as it would completely do-away with candidates performance in class 12, said Navin Seth, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technical University, who is also the chairman of the 11-member committee.
Also, as per the recommendation of the committee, students with Biology as a subject in class 12 will not be allowed to take admission in 15 engineering courses from the academic session 2022-23. However, all such students will be allowed admission to these courses for the current academic session 2021-22 with a bridge courses in Mathematics before taking admission in the courses.
The rule has been changed after Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board decided to cancel class 12 board exams and promote students based on their performance in class 10, 11 and 12. The criteria for allotting the final marks in class 12 will be based to 25:25:50 weightage to class 11, 11 and 12. The results of class 12 science stream will be announced around second week of July.
GUJCET exam is conducted every year to shortlist students for admission to professional degree courses in engineering and pharmacy courses. GUJCET 2021 exam date has not been announced yet but the exam is likely to be conducted in August. GUJCET application form 2021 has been released. The form is available online on the official website gujcet.gseb.org till July 14. GUJCET 2021 exam has been delayed due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Being an entrance exam there are no course fees for the same. However, after you get admission into the college you will have to pay the college fees which will depend upon the college and GUJCET doesn't have any say in that.
