The number of registered candidates for MHT CET 2026 till now (February 20) is 10,94,159 for both PCM and PCB groups. For the PCM group, a total of 7,32,268 students have registered. 4,52,931 candidates applied for the first attempt, while 2,79,337 registered for the second attempt.

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is an important state-level exam. Students take this exam to get admission in engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, and related courses in Maharashtra. The exact number of students who actually appeared in MHT CET 2026 will be updated after official result statistics are released. But based on registrations, most students who registered are expected to take the test.

How Many Students Appear for MHT CET? - The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell will announce the number of candidates who appeared in MHT CET 2026. The authorities will release the official statistics on how many students registered and appeared for MHT CET, along with the results. This year, MHT CET 2026 will be conducted in two sessions. As per reports, over 10.9 lakh applicants have filled the MHT CET application form 2026. Overall, for both PCM and PCB groups together, 7,16,950 students registered for the first attempt, and  3,77,209 candidates completed their registration for the second attempt. 

Candidates who complete the MHT CET registration before the deadline will be able to appear for the exam. The MHT CET exam date for the first attempt was April 11 to 26, and for the second attempt, it is May 10 to 21. Once the results for MHT CET 2026 are declared, aspirants will be able to check the official statistics on how many students registered and appeared for MHT CET 2026 at cetcell.mahacet.org and a detailed breakdown on this page.

How Many Students Registered for MHT CET 2026?

The number of registered candidates for MHT CET 2026 was 10,94,159 for both PCM and PCB groups. For the PCM group, a total of 7,32,268 students have registered. 4,52,931 candidates applied for the first attempt, while 2,79,337 registered for the second attempt. For the PCB group, 3,61,891 students have registered in total. 2,64,019 candidates applied for the first attempt, and 97,872 have registered for the second attempt.

How Many Students Appeared for MHT CET 2026?

This year onwards, the MHT CET exam will be conducted in two sessions. The session 1 exam will be held in April, and the second session will be held in May 2026. The number of students who appeared for MHT CET will be available separately for both sessions and groups. Q:   Where can I find important study materials for MHT CET preparation?
A: 

While it is necessary that students pay special attention to chapters with high weightage, it is highly advised that they cover the full MHT CET syllabus. The question paper of MHT CET is prepared by considering the entire CET syllabus which consists of topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from class 11 and 12. Important study material for MHT CET like books or short notes can be checked online. Students who are taking coaching can get the study materials from the coaching institutes.

Q:   How can a candidate verify his/her marks in MHT CET?
A: 

For verifying marks, candidates are required to write an application to the Divisional authority. It must reach to the authority within four days of result declaration. Along with the application, a bank draft of Rs 1,000 in the name “Director of Education & Research Mumbai” must also be submitted.

Q:   How is MHT CET conducted, online or offline?
A: 

Maharashtra CET Cell conducts MHT CET exam in online mode as a computer-based test. MHT CET exam is conducted for two different courses; BTech, and BPharma. The exam for both BTech and BPharma is completely online. The exam is held across various test cities in India.

Q:   How many times MHT CET is conducted in a year?
A: 

From 2026 onwards, Maharashtra CET Cell will conduct the MHT CET exam twice a year in April and May. MHT CET 2026 exam dates have been announced for both April and May session exams. The details about exam dates for both PCM and PCB groups have been released on the official website and the same can be checked on this page.

For MHT CET 2025, a total of 7,65,335 candidates registered for the exam. Of these, 6,75,600 candidates appeared in the exam.  Last year, the registration numbers also grew compared to previous years.

No. There is no minimum mark required to pass the MHT CET exam. The only requirement to get the scorecard is to appear in all subjects of MHT CET and obtain a non-zero score.
