How to fill GATE Application Form 2027: Important Instructions

IIT Madras has created GATE GOAPS 2027 portal for registration. The portal is now open for GATE form-filling. With that, the authorities have provided necessary instructions for DigiLocker setup, which can be checked below:

• Ensure you have an active verified account on DigiLocker with a verified email address.
• Your mobile number associated with your DigiLocker must be active to receive OTPs.
• Create a separate "GATE2027" folder inside the DigiLocker drive to upload documents, if any. Only SC/ST and PwD candidates have to upload the documents in the folder.
• Do not close or refresh authentication window until the redirection process completes

This year, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras have implemented many new changes in GATE 2027 exam form.

• First and foremost, candidates must check GATE exam eligibility if they are eligible to appear for the exam or not.

• If a candidate meets the eligibility criteria, then the first thing one must do is get their details updated or create an account in DigiLocker. IIT Madras has made GATE 2027 registration mandatory for Indian Nationals through DigiLocker starting from this year.

GATE Application Form 2027 Process

Application for GATE 2027 is submitted online through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) which is available on the official website: gate2027.iitm.ac.in. Overall, the application process comprises registration, followed by form-filling, facial registration, document uploading, fee payment, and form submission.

How to apply for GATE 2027 Exam

Candidates can check the details below on how to apply for the GATE exam at GOAPS:

Step1 - GATE Registration Process

This is the first stage of the application form. The GATE 2027 exam registration link is activated on the GOAPS portal. Indian nationals have to register through DigiLocker. For other nationals, they have to provide their full name, email address, mobile number, password, etc.

Note:

• Only one candidate can register with one e-mail address

• Contact number and email ID cannot be changed after registration

• Candidates must set the consent validity to three years for verification purposes

Once registration is complete, candidates will receive an enrollment ID and password at their provided email ID. These are login credentials that will be required to access GATE login 2027.

Step-2 GATE Exam Form-Filling Process

After registration, candidates have to provide their personal, communication, and educational information. Candidates are advised to keep all their information ready. The following details are needed for form fill-up:

• GATE DigiLocker Registration

• Personal and Address details

• Educational qualification details. In this section, candidates have to provide their institute/college name where they have studied or graduated along with PINCODE.

• Selection of GATE test paper

• Choice of GATE Exam Cities

• Recent scanned photograph (not old more than 3 months)

• Candidate’s live photo will be captured during registration time. Therefore, it is advised to use a computer with a webcam facility or a phone with 5 MP camera

• Scanned signature according to specifications

• Valid ID proof

• Category or Dyslexic certificate (in PDF format)

After filling in all the above information in GATE 2027 application form, candidates must make the fee payment as per category.

The GATE 2027 Online Application Process System allows candidates to enter the date and save partially filled form.

Step-3 Documents Required for GATE Online Application Form 2027

After filling all the above details, candidates must upload their documents for verification. The list of documents include:

• Scanned image of photograph

• Scanned signature of candidate

• Scanned category/dyslexic/ PwD certificate in PDF format

• Scanned Valid ID proof in PDF format

The documents must be uploaded correctly in the respective designated space as per the required specifications. If there is any discrepancy, then authorities will notify the candidates on their registered email ID.

Step 4 - Application Fee Payment

After all details are filled, candidates will be redirected to the payment gateway. The accepted payment modes include: Internet banking/credit card/debit card/wallet/UPI. The GATE 2027 registration fee is non-refundable and must be paid before the deadline. If payments are made multiple times due to technical glitches, then the additional amount will be credited to the source account within 15 working days.

NOTE: Candidates must note that the fee mentioned above is for a single test paper. Candidates opting for the secondary GATE paper will have to pay twice the fee.

Once the payment is successful, candidates will be redirected to the GATE 2027 application portal, from where the PDF file of the submitted application form can be downloaded.

How to Check Status of GATE 2027 Application Form

After submitting GATE exam form, candidates can check application status. The GATE application status determines whether the form is successfully submitted or not. Candidates can check their registration status by following the steps mentioned below:

• Go to the official website: gate2027.iitm.ac.in

• Click on GOAPS portal and login using enrollment ID and password

• After logging, status of the application form will be displayed on the screen

If there is any discrepancy in application form, then it will be notified on the registered email ID by the authorities.
