JoSAA Counselling 2024: List Of Documents Required For IITs
Candidates must report to the allotted institute with all the required documents as listed below. Failing to do so will result in the cancellation of candidature.
- Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhar Card or Birth Certificate (for Date of Birth)
- Class XII Mark Sheet (Qualifying Examination)
- Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable In case of OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2024
- Original Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
- Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details
- Medical Certificate (in specified Format available on JoSAA 2024 format)
- OCI certificate /PIO card
- Passport / Citizenship certificate
- Original Certificate for persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing

Candidates do not need to present a domicile certificate in order to be admitted to IIT, NIT, or IIIT via JEE. The only university where admission is granted based on the Home State Quota is NIT. The state in which you take your 12th board test is used to determine admission, not your home state. When receiving JoSAA counselling, the domicile certificate is not necessary. The JEE score of the applicants determines their admission.
JoSAA Counselling 2024: List Of Documents To Be Uploaded For Admission to NIT+ System
- Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhar Card or Birth Certificate (for Date of Birth)
- Class XII Mark Sheet and Certificate (Qualifying Examination)
- Admit card of JEE (Main) 2024
- Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS) if applicable, in case of OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2024.

Note: Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) issued by Maharashtra State must be validated by Social Welfare department (in case of SC and OBC-NCL category) and Tribal Welfare department (in case of ST category) of Maharashtra Government. The SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates of Maharashtra State have to produce their caste validity certificate in the format available on JoSAA 2024 website. ST certificates from Tamil Nadu state must be issued by the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer

To be eligible for JEE Advanced JoSAA counselling:
- Candidates should have JEE Advanced rank
- Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent exam
- Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths in class 12
- In class 12, canmdidates must have score 75% aggregate marks or must be in top 20 p

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission

The JEE Advanced JoSAA counselling dates will be made available on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. Usually, the JoSAA counselling registration starts a day after the JEE Advanced result is anniunced. Complete schedule will be available on the official website.

No, one does not have to apply separately at IIT Madras website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs. Shortlisted students who get a seat through the JoSAA counselling, simply need to report for docume
