There is no physical JoSAA rank list. However, JoSAA seat allotment is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced ranks of the candidates, which is termed as the JoSAA rank list. Check all details on the JoSAA rank list 2026 below.
JoSAA 2026 Rank List: JoSAA seat allocation is based on the ranks of the candidates in JEE Advanced and JEE Main. The JEE Main 2026 ranks are used for seat allocation in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, whereas the JEE Advanced ranks are used for the allocation of seats offered by the IITs. A physical rank list is not released by JoSAA or NTA, or the IITs, which have the names of the candidates arranged by their ranks. However, the ranks are allotted to the candidates individually through their JEE Main and JEE Advanced results.
The JEE Main and JEE Advanced ranks are given to the candidates for the open category and also for their respective categories. During the JoSAA counselling, ranks will form the basis of seat allotment. Read more below.

Types of JoSAA Rank List 2026
Seat allocation in IITs is based on JEE Advanced rank, and seat allocation in NIT+System is based on JEE Main rank. The following TYPES of rank lists will be used for the JoSAA 2026 seat allocation:
- Common rank list (CRL): It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN, GEN-Pwd, GEN-EWS, GEN-EWS-Pwd, OBC-NCL, OBCNCL-Pwd, SC, SC-Pwd, ST or ST-Pwd. Foreign tag candidates are also included in the CRL, which is prepared based on JEE (Advanced) 2026.
- GEN-EWS rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN-EWS or GEN-EWS-Pwd.
- OBC-NCL rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag OBC-NCL or OBC-NCL-Pwd.
- SC rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag SC or SCPwD.
- ST rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag ST or STPwD.
- CRL-Pwd rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN-Pwd, GEN-EWS-Pwd, OBC-NCL-Pwd, SC-Pwd, or ST-Pwd.
- GEN-EWS-Pwd rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN-EWS-Pwd.
- OBC-NCL-Pwd rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag OBC-NCL-Pwd.
- SC-Pwd rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag SCPwD.
- ST-Pwd rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag ST-Pwd.

There is no minimum mark prescribed for the JoSAA rank list for the NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The candidates who have received a rank via their JEE Main 2026 result, are eligible to take part in JoSAA counselling and are included in the rank list. However, note that not all candidates who have a JEE Main rank will get a seat in the NIT+ system. The availability of seats depends on the institute, the total number of seats on offer, the number of candidates applying, the reservation percentage and more factors.
JoSAA Rank List 2026 for IIT
While there is no need for any minimum core in JEE Mains to be eligible for the JoSAA rank list for the NIT+ system, there is a minimum marks requirement for IITs.
