It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all the conditions of eligibility. JoSAA 2025 Counselling
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) publishes the JoSAA cutoff ranks, comprising opening and closing ranks, after each round of seat allotment. The JoSAA 2025 opening rank signifies the threshold from which an institution begins allocating seats for a particular course, while the closing rank denotes the last rank eligible for seat allotment. For JoSAA 2025, the cutoff for IITs will be determined based on the JEE Advanced 2025 ranks, whereas the cutoff for NITs, IIEST, INITs, and other GFTIs will rely on JEE Main 2025 ranks.
The JoSAA's opening and closing ranks are influenced by several factors, including the exam's difficulty level, the number of candidates who qualify, the availability of seats, and trends from previous years. IIITs admit candidates with JEE Main ranks up to around 54,000 in the open and gender-neutral categories. They primarily offer popular courses such as Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Information Technology to candidates with ranks above 25,000 in JEE Mains.
JoSAA counselling will start on June 3, a day after the JEE Advanced 2025 result is announced. The dates for JoSAA 2025 has been announced on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. The counselling will include atleast 6 rounds of seat allotment.

JoSAA 2025 counselling choice filling last date is June 12. Note that, once the JoSAA choice filling window closes candidates will not be allowed to edit the choice list. This means candidates will not be able to change the order of the selected choices or add any more course in or delete any course from the choice list after the deadline for choice filling.

If a candidate has been allotted seat in the first round of JoSAA, only then the seat acceptance fee (SAF) has to be paid. SAF is to be paid to confirm the seat as soon as the seat is allotted. If the SAF is not paud, then the candidate will not be eligible for document verification.
