UCIL Recruitment through GATE 2025: Eligibility Criteria
To apply for UCIL jobs through GATE 2025 scores, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria -
- Must have a full-time BE or BTech degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as mining, electrical, or chemical from a recognised/approved institute or university.
- Must have a minimum qualifying mark of 60% in their graduation. 5% relaxation is applicable for the reserved categories.
- Applicants must have appeared in the relevant GATE 2025 paper that is required for the UCIL recruitment.
- The maximum age of the applicant must be 28 years for the general category. However, relaxations as per the government norms is applicable for the reserved category.
The GATE eligibility for architecture students are -
- Must have a bachelor's degree in architecture (5 years course)
- Naval architecture (4-years course) or
- Must have pursued B.Planning (4-year course)
Candidates must ensure that they go through the GATE eligibility criteria carefully before applying.
The eligible GATE paper codes (for two paper combinations) in GATE computer Science and engineering are -
- Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA)
- Electronics and Communication (EC)
- Geomatics Engineering (GE)
- Mathematics (MA)
- Physics (PH) and
- Statistics (ST)
Candidates must be careful with the GATE paper codes while filling out the application form.
You can apply for two GATE papers (maximum). While filling out the GATE application form, you need to select the primary and secondary paper. The GATE secondary paper must be from the subject list prescribed by the GATE authorities. Before adding the paper, go through the subject combination list and GATE paper codes.
Candidates opting for two GATE papers will have to pay double the fees mentioned -
For example,
- If a general category candidate is applying for two GATE papers, then he/she has to pay a fee of INR 4000 (during the regular timeline) and INR 5000 (during the extended period).
- The same applies to the female, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, INR 2000 (during the regular time period) and INR 3000 (during the extended period).

- Only GATE 2025 scores are valid for recruitment.
- Based on GATE 2025 marks, candidates will be shortlisted for a personal interview.
- If there is more than one candidate with the same cutoff marks, then the candidate with the same marks will be shortlisted for the personal interview.
- The final selection process will be in the order of merit based on the total marks scored by the candidate out of 100 marks.
- The total marks out of 100 marks will be calculated by assigning 80% of the weightage to the GATE 2025 score and 20% weightage to the personal interview, ensuring due reservation.
